View Full Version : Flaking paint on roof 03 GLS

Hey I got a problem. I have two little spots of flaking paint on my roof. I was wondering has anyone else had this problem and did Hyundai take care of it for you or did you just have to suffer and deal. If anyone has any suggestions plaese let me know. I don't want to go to the dealer unless they will fix it. Thanks

Yup they will fix it, it's covered under the warranty, for like 5 years if you're the first owner, call the customer service for hyundai motors america. It's in your owner's manual.

the paint came off of my passenger side mirror, and the body shop took care of it with no issues.....

Thanks for the quick response I will call them tommorrow. I just didn't want to have to go through alot of hassel, but I figured they would fix it they always do. Greg

Well, the paint is usually only covered for the first 12,000 miles if I remember correctly. Depending on the dealership, they may or may not fix it under warranty. Plus there will have to be proof that the reason the paint is flaking is not from leaving bird poop (or another substance that eats paint) for longer than you maybe should have.

I hate to sound negative, I just want you to know what you might be in for. Good luck and I hope they take care of it for you.

I have a freakin chip in my passenger back door. It's like, white. I think it might be the primer or something. but yeah. I have to take it in for an oil change and to get that recall done on Friday so I'll just wear a low cut shirt and as if they can help me out LOL

i think my car was in the neighborhood of 50,000 miles when my dealership re-painted my mirror... maybe i was lucky....

Wow, so thats the secret to getting things fixed...a low cut shirt....don't think it will work for me.

my paint is flaking and the dealership told me it was because i dont take care of my car......ummmmmmmmm i wash it every damn week!!!! and i only have 13,400 miles on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
