OBX from ebay.

Or a custom built one from mahonroy. They are a little pricey but look like a quality build. here's the link http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28279&highlight=manifold

Where in Washington are you? I had a custom made for $380 and it has a real collector, unlike the OBX.

No ... like Cypher said ... showing what's available :)

Had to have some knee surgery, so it's going slow ... :( ... So close, just need the piping welded up and powder coated. :D

I decided to go turbo too, so far i have a garret GT17 from a saab turbo 2.0.
i got it for free at work so i will put it to some use.

I plan to run low boost, 6lb only since i will run it on the stock internals and dont want to kill the motor so fast.

the T17 is small and at 6lbs i wont gain huge numbers but i'll be happy if i hit 150-160hp, if that.

im also going to piece my own turbo setup to save money. budget turbo setup, plan on spending no more than 1k.
but i need to find a good cheap turbo manifold with a T25 flange.
kspec has a cast iron for $350 that might work well with it.

here is what the GT17 looks like

Might want to plan to change your clutch even thought you're just pushing 6 pounds.... this is what I am pushing at the moment and can easily get the clutch to slip in all gears.

just some input. ive got the same manifold except mine has the external gate on top of runner 4. The wastegate on that saab gt17 probably will be EXTREMELY tight fit. the flange for that kspec manifold sits pretty close to the block...

btw stock internals should handle 350-400.

I have a stage 2 clutch and 11lb flywheel.

I dont see another manifold that i could use with this turbo, i was told i need a T25 flange manifold, im not an expert in turbos but i know how they work.

i'll keep searching the other hyundai aftermarket sites to see what they have.

350-400? :) i wish.

Whichever manifold you choose to go with, just make sure that the turbo flange is off to the right (more closer to the driver side of the car) rather than in the middle, otherwise you may have troubles getting a downpipe to fit without it hitting the alternator

I was told that some evo manifolds will fit is you slot one of the holes. I can grab a 4g63 manifold for cheap. Can anyone confirm this will work? Thanks

either you pay for it now, or you pay for it later when something breaks.

Yep ... the manifold is one of the most expensive parts of any kit, unless they make a turbo version of your engine ... which they don't ;)

As Far as I know it can be made to fit. Jim (cypher) said the runners line up but the flange either needs to be modified or cut off and have the Beta II flange put on. I'm saying for sure this is true you would have to ask him about it.

all you have to do is bore out the bolt holes a little bit, i started to bore one out, but didn't have a good die grinder at the time so i gave up and got an obx manifold instead.

been there and tried it. you need to slot quite a few holes. its totally off. the ports line up for the runners but the flange is off a bit. so is the obx manifold.. i had to hack atleast 3 bolt holes on the obx manifold flange to allow the manifold to fit. ive been down all paths so take it from me when i said the obx needs mods to fit and the dsm/evo mainfold needs heavy modding.

The problem is that labmixz is a liar and a thief. It took me more than a year, and another member that lives close to his house to get an item I had paid 80$ for delivered to me.

the k-spec cast iron manifold will work with your turbo
the only dowside might be your turbo, it has a tapered outlet, wich might cause problem to make a downpipe
worst case, havea machine shop machine it flat on a milling then use a regualr flat flange welded to the downpipe

I was thinking of getting the saab downpipe then cut it off at the end and have an exhaust shop build the rest of it.

heh im not the one that bought a dsm manifold that has a COMPLETELY diffrent flange than the turbo he bought. i already told you your going to need to heavily modify the dsm manifold to make it fit on the engine. i told you i already went down that road but apparently people dont listen...... whatever, its your money do what you want. just trying to save you from wasting money.

Dude look. I know what I was buying. I was just stating that I needed to buy an adapter. You dont have to get all pissy with me. I know what I have to do here. If it dont work out, im out 20 bucks and some time and also have a big *** paper weight which is no big deal.

Im going for a budget turbo set up. I wasted my money on doing the beta swap in my accent. Im looking for solid parts and reliability.

with a turbo setup you can only have two of the following:

Cheap
Power
reliability

We're not all like that here;) Most people are more than willing to help. and I think what most people don't realize is that even though you ask questions about the Beta 2 (IT"S IN AN ACCENT)

That "law" can be applied to most things. Even computers, for example: Cheap, fast, reliable - you can only ever have 2.

He was giving you advice and you blantly disregarded it. He's been there, I've been there and the dsm manifolds aren't worth the hassle. Even if you get the holes to bolt up the ports won't line up appropiately hurting your flow. Its not worth it. I have a manifold sitting here that you may be interested in, and it has a t25 flange. Send me a pm if you're interested.

See others acknowledge this and agree with me. i tried to give you advice and tell you i've been down that road as have others. just trying to save you time and money but you got all bent out of shape.

I work on cars all day long, Cars WAY more advanced and that have alot more technolgy and that are more complicated than a hyundai. so its not like your taking advice from a moron from jiffy lube..
