I saw on the news this morning that Nissan is not participating in the Chicago or Detroit auto shows this year. They said that a reduced marketing budget, and lack of many new product lines lead them to this decision.

Many others are scaling back their displays as well. CIAS is one of my favorite events of the year. Nissan not being there will not ruin it, but I wonder who/what else is going to be absent?

That's interesting. You'd think they'd all want to be at Detroit, LA, NY, and Chicago. You'd think they'd pull out of the smaller ones.

Just read the same article.

Lots of manufacturers are pulling out of these shows. They're just too expensive.

Nissan doesnt have much in the works past this next year anyways. Doesnt surprise me that they're not going to waste the money on showing off cars people already know about.
