Just thought i would share a few pics. I am in the process of converting to a return fuel system. Should be able to tackle that tomorrow dependant on that end cap fitting in the fuel rail...

I haven't even started it or anything... i'm still waiting on some fittings to complete the turbo set up. Hopefully they will arive soon. I dont really care to run it NA without o2 sensors.

Here is the set up:
beta2 engine from 01 elantra
beta2 tranny from 01 elantra
stock 1.6L wiring, modified
t3super60 turbo internally gated
custom fmic

for fuel delivery i will be using 290cc sonata injectors with the return fuel system i am making. I still have to find a rrfpr or someting similar.

engine management is temporarily a smt-6, laptop controlled from the driver seat.

Pics are a lil old... but i have a usb virus and havent been able to upload pics for a few days... i will upload new ones as soon as i get it fixed. These are just pics from when i had the engine on a stand and when i first put it in.

Good to see some Accent owners finally checking in here. I guess a main reason is because you have the Beta now, and everyone knows EXD is better than NT (haha, just kidding guys).

Which tranny are you running? From what I gather, both the Accent one or an Elantra/Tib one will work. Are you going to try to keep the AC and power steering, or either? I don't think anyone has been able to fit the AC in there, am I correct? (I really need to keep up with my Beta swapping news).

You know, this has the making of the fastest private owned Hyundai in North America.

That will be very nice!
I am in the process of converting to a returnless fuel system
with the retunless fuel system and i still have to find a rrfpr
Do you meen you are converting to a return style fuel system? I am not sure that a rrfpr will work without a return line... Anyways keep up the good work

Time slips! I know you're not done yet, but when you are, TIME SLIPS! I think everyone on here would be very interested in seeing what the motor can do :0) :0)

lol... i'm converting to a return system. thanks for pointing out my typo Mahonroy.

I have a bumper i fiberglassed specifically to show off the FMIC and just plain look better than my old one. Here is a pic or two:

I still have to paint it... but i'll get to that later :D

The 1.6L alpha engine and the 2.0L beta2 engine are extremely similar, most of the sensors are even the same. They both operate on a returnless fuel system and use a MAP sensor.. So all my experience with boosting a Map based 1.6L with a slightly smaller displacement transveys to this new 2.0L very easily. I am mainly changing to a returning fuel system because:

A: it only cost about $100
B: I dont have to spluge on some huge injectors
C: it makes tuning with a piggy back just a lot easier with a fpr

I retained power steering and there is room for AC, however I haven't had AC for a long time... so I dont know if I'm going to take the time to make it work.

To start I will only be running 10-12 PSI until I install weiseco Pistons and rods. At that point its full standalone and a lot more... so watch out for that :D

wow ! No door handles !!!!!!

also, i wanted to ask you...

#1. What year did the accent come with map sensor setup?
#2. What model engine (specs) was in that map based accet ?

haha, yeah door handles suck! :D

All the 1.6L DOHC accents use a MAP sensor. So the LC's and LC2's had a MAP unless they were the base model, the 1.5L sohc.
