Pittsburgh Meet 2009

So I'm trying to gauge some interest as if I should host another Pittsburgh Meet this year. I was hoping for September or early October. Most of you know the shenanigans that come with said meet and party afterwards. I would like to do something alittle different, but I am not sure on what. Thoughts or ideas?

Far western side of the state. About 4-5 hour drive from this general area. you may get there faster with your easy access to the turnpike.

-yamaha, what diff are you thinking about? i setup my basement with blacklights and highlighters hehe but i dont have the floor space to snooze that you do, so thats pretty much out. -how many 21+ ers do we have? could we hit a dive or something?

we could always go like we did out in allentown and try for a restaurant parking lot if you make some calls. or maybe even lowes theatre will let us use a piece of their lot, they have car shows down there a fair amount in summer.

well, you probably wont believe me, but once you turn 21, the whole drinking/club thing gets boring after a month or two.

its fun when you're under age because you're doing something you're not supposed to, and it gives you a rush/thrill. once you can actually do it and realize it isnt ****, you gradually slow down/stop. plus, drinking and going out gets expensive REAL quick.

ill be 24 in june, and if i go over to shauns (knott) or nicks (projectx515) 2x a month, thats "a lot" for me. even then, i might drink 6-10 beers playing beer pong, and thats about it.

x2. I finally made it through half the case of Landshark I bought around march 5. This came about due to taking a 6 pack of it as my contribution to a party I attended. Bars aren't that much fun unless you go with a lot of friends. I had my time in the sun of barhopping, and now its kind of old.

lol, yeah i almost couldn't even type that out hehe. im 25 and my friends still drink almost every weekend. i usually end up at a bar at least once a week, but its usually only a few drinks. but i have my weeks. Hell i had my 2yr anniversary living at my house party, then a lets kill the left over been party the next day, (yamaha came to these, the first one was OUT OF CONTROL) then went to a 21st bday bar night two days later, then st. pattys day was that following weekend. i probobly drank somewhere around 50 beers that week (equivilent, some would be shots).

some people just never grow up... and others are borderline alcoholics i guess... Damnit! -i fall into both!

How about a meet somewhere alittle different that the same park, the a "planned" nice back road drive, not the crazy rush across the mad highways of Pittsburgh (altho that was fun too), where unless you have a GPS & lose the crowd and you are left on a highway somewhere <smile>
Now I did enjoy the Beer Pong game but I'm not into drinking till we puke (& photographing it, altho it was funny)

I did like the going out to dinner at that place from the food network.

For the night thing we could do two separate events, one go & get all drunked up at someones house & other could go to some kind of club or bar.

We need to take more pictures from the meet rather than the beer party LOL.

I know for me it it is a 2 night event, Arrive Friday night, Leave Sunday. & altho it would have been fun to pass out at the house, I need to find a place (hotel, I'm old I need a bed <Smile>) closer to party address. If I remember it was close to some downtown ? bars..

as for the date, September, Bleh :P id rather have a nice mid summer meet with a definite no jacket day and plenty of sun and good food.
Shooting for the end of summer start of fall makes the days more hit and miss. Then again, it IS pittsburgh, so the weather is pretty sporadic.

Id like to go out to a nice bar or something, but if we end up with under 21 thats out, id hate to leave people behind. (unless we had a good split and each group could party)
There are some OK clubs around, but the under 21 ones are practically pointless, so same as a above. Most/all of us are or will be 21, but for anyone that isnt, i don't want to turn them off to coming. we need as many peeps as we can get!

Dinner was really awesome, id love to call up some places and see if they could accommodate a huge group like that place in Allentown did.

This has been a problem since I'm 21 now, so I can go out with one of my friends, but not the rest, till later this year.

OK let me explain what I meant by going to a club/bar.
I really did not want to rush over to Sean's place & drink all night. (could get back in time for the puking :) )
I did once again, enjoy it, but I was staying too far away to drink, & then get to my hotel.
I also did not want to go out & drink all night at a bar.
But I thought a few people might want to go & see a neat bar or club that is in the Pittsburgh area.
I know we are an economic (light spending, best bang for the buck) bunch :) but when I'm some place far from home I like to hit some interesting (unique) place.
I did like to Food Network place we visited (forgot the name), and I know there was a fairly cool club near by.
I had seen some band friends of mine play there about 6 or so years ago, but I forgot exactly where it was..

The car has been totally reliable, and many people on here can vouch for it including the road trips. I can garuntee if would make it anywhere and not break down.

im jfwy bro, jus sayin i wouldnt get a car with a ****load of mods as a dd unless i knew at least something about engines and how **** worked lol. so far, i know where to put the necessary fluids, and thats about it.

i drove as a passenger down to MD, then over to delaware and back to pa, no issues
