so i'm going down the road and there is a young lady probably in her early to mid 20's walking down the street with her thumb out...dressed in black with an aprin...so she was probably going to work.

the thing was that i had my son...and would never pick anybody up unless i knew them. but if i/you were alone....

would you pick her up if you were alone? :confused:not sure?

I don't think I would...you can never be too sure...my dad picked up a hitch hiker once when I was with him...the guy was really creepy

Yeah, she probably was "working". You call them "hitch-hikers" now? We had a different name for them years ago.

Depends on the area, and how the person looks.

I live in a relatively small town, and I know a lot of people there. I wouldn't have a problem doing it there.

But downtown Indianapolis? Never.

theres no way.. my dad picked one up once and the guy tried to grab the wheel. he was (luckily) able to reach over him and hit the door lever and kick him out

I've picked up two people. One was this black guy who was neighbor's with my friends parents, I took him about a mile down the road to where he wanted to be. The second one was this latino guy who couldn't speak English very well who was looking for the post office. I was stopped at a red light, at first I just said "yeah, it's down that way" and pointed. But then I was thinking "It's 95 degrees outside and I should be nice." So, I told him to get in and I gave him a ride since I was going past it.

I hope that I set a good example for friendly whites around the world.

I don't think I'd pick up a woman though.

Did it once, lady was nuts. I was driving down the street, it had just started raining, this lady (older) was walking with groceries, she gets in the back seat, wife in the front, and the whole ride she was talking some crazy **** about people being after her and being followed.

I would do it again under the proper circumstances, but I pretty much expect people to be nuts.
