Well I went to the dragway lastnight and wasn't too dissapointed for it being my first time. The weather was about 55 degrees and the track was cold. There were little to no people there. I would literally make a run and then stage and make a run again with no wait. I got 7 runs in about an hour. I could have had more but I watched in the stands between runs to see what friends were running in thier cars. Well here are my results

****Sorry for all the dots but the post wouldn't space it out with just spaces

For these runs I the car basically never cooled down due to a 2 hour drive to the track.

Mods include:
SS autochrome 4-2-1 (No CEL for about 7500 miles now :D )
Magnaflow flowthrough muffler (muffler only)
Accord CAI
Coolant Bypass
Clutch Slave cylinder mod

B&M short shifter
No weight reduction (spare tire and extra crap in the trunk)

Those are pretty good runs. Do you have a Sedan or Hatch? You may be able to get into the 15.9's if you reduce some weight and are able to drive a little "better."

Keep up the good work.

How is it that on run 6 you had your best R/T and worst 60'? Good runs nonetheless.

not bad for the 1st time, but you should definitely be in 15s with the mods that you have!!!

You got to get the junk out of the trunk!! Nice times though, but weight is your enemy and weight at the very back of the car is the worst kind of enemy.

Good runs all! Thanks for posting all your numbers like that. You and I have very similar mods and its nice to see what the results are. Thanks

I just looked close, you have bad 60' times, learn how to launch your car properly, try not to spin tires at all, get an alignment, maybe a lil wider tires, and smoke your tires before every race!!!

The launch is definitely really important, the 60' time has a dramatic effect on E/T and trap speed. However I must disagree with OdessitPashka, unless you have slicks or a very high performance tire up front, don't smoke them. Street tires do not pick up sand and debris like an R compound, plus they would lose grip from the excessive heat of a burnout and your 60' times will suffer, if you are worried about cleaning them off, just spin them around once as you pull up to stage.

dude, I know where you are coming from, but I go to the track almost every friday and I speak from my own experience and trust me it helps!!! a LOT!!!!

I know you're quite the drag racer :) But I'm speaking from experience as well, though maybe not as complete as yours. For interest's sake, what tires do you have run Odessit? And just as important, what tires are you running on Jake?

I have all season dunlop tires, and they are 205s, a bit wider than stockies :)

Smoking your tires makes a dramatic difference in your 60' time, I tried a lot of things and smoking tires offers the best traction!!!

It must depend on the tires, I tried smoking up the stock Michelins a bit and on that run my 60' was terrible, I couldn't get traction of the line, the tires had gone too hot to grip. My favourite were the Falken Azenis Sports on my Accent, pull up to the line real slow, no burnout, no anything, rev it to just below redline, and hammer off the clutch. The tires would hook up and I was gone, 60' times at least 2/10ths quicker than the Elantra, of course the E/T was a second slower.
