Ok, I went to buy the silver reverse gauges for my car off of ebay with paypal...
I have a verified account, with a bank account and credit card linked to it.
I do not have the funds in my bank account to pay for the gauges, and I wanted it charged through the credit card.
Looking at my transfer history, it says it took the money out of my bank account.
( Transfer | From | Bank Account | $42.00 USD | Oct. 14, 2004 | Completed)
So I don't know what happened, but did I just bounce my bank account?
I know I didn't have 42 dollars in my account...but it still took it out...

So confused

Basically the bank takes out of your savings or some other account in order to cover the one that is suffering (typically checking). BB&T offers this service.

What does your bank statement say? You should have online banking, right? Check what that says and then if there is some type of problem give the bank a call.

On a side note, I wouldn't be buying anything if you don't even have $42 in your checking account.

I have the money, I just usually don't keep it in my checking

EDIT: Just checked my bank account via online. It's not showing a withdrawl via paypal, and neither is my savings. Very weird. I'm going to keep tabs on this...

I just realized today is the 14th, so chances are it'll be posted tomorrow to your account.

Most likely you bounced your account, especially if you have overdraft protection. There are different types of overdraft protection. Some banks will link your savings account to your checking, in case you do not have enough funds to cover for your check or transaction. Other banks will have a set limit. For example, with Washington Mutual, I have a $1000 overdraft protection on my checking account, which means that even if I didn't have funds, they will cover my transaction for up to $1000 before they will deny the payment. You'll likely get an overdraft fee, which varies on your bank. Wamu charges $22 per each overdraft protection.

That's one thing I hate about Paypal also, it always tries to default to your checking account each time.

EXACTLY!!!

I've done the same thing, accidentally paid with my account instead of a credit card.... Fortunately, I had the cash to cover it....

Try to deposit some cash ASAP... sometimes it takes paypal a couple days to hit your account.
