If you had a choice between these three cars, which one would you choose?

1. 2004 Porsche 911 (996) Turbo (415hp Stock) - $118,400.00USD
2. 1998 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo (320hp Stock) - $40,508.00USD
3. 1983 Volkswagen Rabbit GTI (90hp Stock) - $7995.00USD

I choose #3:, the VW GTI :eclipsee_ . Click on this video (http://www.endless-c.com/general/golf.mpeg) or right click and save target as...to see why!
It's a big video file, so please be patient. It's worth it!
I thought it was rather funny!

Uhhhhhhh I hate to burst the bubble for the VW lovers out there but that Golf has a Cadillac Northstar V-8 under the hood! It was in SCC about a month or two ago. The guy in the Porsche throwing up his hands in despair at the end is worth gold though! edit: October 04 SCC story is called "Coupe deGolf"

Sorry to tell you, but you got the wrong car. The car in the video is a 1983 VW MK1 Rabbit and the "Coupe deGolf" is a 1991 VW Mk2 Golf. I'm not saying that the 83 Rabbit isn't heavily moddified. My point is, $118,400.00USD for a factory Porsche, $40,508.00USD + lets say $5,000.00USD in modds (that's $45,508.00USD) for the Supra, or $7995.00USD + lets say $20,000.00USD in mods ( that's $27,995.00USD) for the Rabbit. Money can buy you power! But, let's not waste it!

I'd still take the Supra. :D Are those the new prices for each of those cars? Because a used Supra is generally much less than $40K, even for a '98.

Supra alllll the way!

You are right about the Coupe deGolf I looked a little more closely at the photos and saw the differences. I would love to know what he is running in that Golf though......

Haha, well you can't buy them new anymore, why compare prices that way?

I picked the GTI because that's all I could really buy. I would take the 911 if someone wants to give one to me though.

i picked the GTI because i had one and they were the biggest bang for the buck back then. the smile/cost ratio was as high as it gets. can't get that with supra or porsche.

I'd take that VW..... not only fast, but you can haul stuff in it too......

Personally I would pick the Porsche just for the prestige and looks and not to mention chicks dig it, even if it got whooped by that little GTI. Living in So Cal, we see very nice cars on a daily basis. I see guys in brand new M3's and I just think.. "nice car" but I see a guy with a 911 Turbo and I wonder "man...what does this guy do for a living?"

I was also thinking that the GTI was the one featured on SCC with the V8. What a crazy hybrid, but he made it look very nice, almost looking stock. I was also pretty amazed with the mini cooper/type r hybrid.

I also picked the GTI. A guy I knew in highschool had a Porsche 944 his senior year and was blown away by one. BTW, he was also an amiture stock car driver.

I'd say porsche even before watching the video. It's like driving the short bus yeah I am getting paid but I have to work with retards all day.

911. No doubt, no regrets. I wouldn't be street racing it anyway.

You also have to take into consideration that the Porsche was hauling at least two passengers (couldn't see if there were 2 guys or 1 in the back seat) and the Supra had one. So that adds about 400 lbs. to the 911 and about 200 lbs. to the Supra. The guy in the VW was by himself. Nevertheless, the GTI probably would have won, but not by as large a margin.

I chose the Porsche because of the exotic looks. There's a certain amount of prestige that goes with a Porsche, especially one of that caliber. Anyone can make a car fast, I've seen Ford Pintos running in the 11s. But I certainly wouldn't trade my Elantra GT in for an 11 sec. Pinto. Taking into consideration the looks, features, quality, and value of the car, the Elantra GT beats the 11 sec. Pinto hands down.

But if it were a 9 second Pinto, street legal I'd take it! Imagine the shock and awe value.... But I get that any time I dust a Civic or Sentra SE-R (not a spec-v though)

Where's the option for none of the above? :D I dislike VW's. I would so rather spend the money that a Porsche costs on something I actually like, say a Viper GTS or a replica Shelby Cobra. The same with Supra, I'd spend the money on a STi.

Anyway, that is a really fast Golf no matter how you slice it.

I picked Toyota Supra. I just always loved the style of it.

um....why is this even a comparision....porsche all the way...yeah the v-dub can beat it in a straight line...but who cares...it cant out handle a porsche especially with a v8 in the frontend! v-dub is only good for the track and nothing else....a porshce you can do everything in!! inlcuding women!

May sound silly, but even with those choices... I'd still get my EGT. It's is exactly what I wanted. I'm pretty simple in that sense. However when I'm rich and famous my big pimping car will be a purple Mini Cooper. I was stopped at a light in front of a local dealership the other day and I saw one in like a dark plum. It was pretty hot.

That's a really nice Supra, but they're a dime a dozen unlike the Porsche 911 turbo

SuperGLS

I wouldn't say they are a dime a dozen. In this area there are plenty of stock 911's and I've never seen any crazy horsepower Supras (to tell you the truth though, I don't go to any tracks or anything).

I'd still take the 911 over the Supra though.

EDIT- Fixed my mistake. My bad.

I've seen ONE supra in my life, and on route 80, too.

I kept up with it :D:D:D
Until it stepped on the gas, that is.

(note; wasn't racing. under the speed limit. he didn't even know I was trying to keep up with it)

I chose supra, but got suprised with the result

I remember seeing a nice a$$ supra once... in the city... driven by an old man... who looked around mid 60s... I was shocked

You mean you would take a supra over a 911 porsche right? In So Cal there are always plenty of nice cars, but the supras are more common than the 911's. If you were to compare the Supra to the Boxter, then the boxter is actually more common.

has ne one but me noticed the roll cage in the gti?

and going by that i would say that the gti is probably not a gti any more bout a 1000 pound rocket with around 300 horses and thats a low estimate
and by the way vw makes some kickass hacthes i own a 00 tdi golf and it has had its fair share of ricer hunting and then when u tell the guy its only developing a 100 horse that look is priceless

That VW says cheap all over, doesn't matter how much money he put into.

The Porsche in my opinion is way overpriced. every porsche model is.

The Supra, when nicely modded, can look very luxurious and at the same time beat the crap out of most cars out there. When someone has a nice Supra you know he/she knows cars.
