I know there's another red hatch down the street from me - is that you?

shadow5606
01-21-2005, 08:00 PM
wow, there you are! lol My wife has the red hatch (keep in in the garage) I just bought a black GLS sedan (keep it outside so my bike can stay inside)

Grateful dead fan too?

I play and write songs on acoustic guitar. like the dead, dylan, steve earle, neil young, all that stuff too.

How odd is it that we should first meet here ... when we live about 8 houses away from each other!!

Yes, I'm a deadhead though I cut my hair off long ago. ;)

I sent you a PM with my contact info - we should meet up sometime.

shadow5606
01-21-2005, 08:53 PM
I'll have to tell my wife that your red hatchback is better than her red hatchback because you've got a 5spd though. My black elantra is a 5spd. I used to have that dark blue toyota MR-2 spyder if you ever remember it going by. Had to sell it so I could go back to school. :(

yeah it's funny what the internet does! Neighbors end up meeting online before in person. Yeah I got your PM, I'll shoot my info over and we'll have to catch up someday.

I'm up North at Notre Dame, if you can't tell from my name. Originally from STL tho, and I have to say that northern Indiana isn't the most exciting place I've ever been.

No it si not. I am down here in Bloomington,IN, originally from South Bend. Northern Indiana probably has to be the most boring place in the world. It is no college town like down here.

I'm from Columbus, IN, which is fairly down south.

Biff, you don't live too far from me, and neither do the Fishers folk.

We need to get together sometime. I go to GTG's all the time with the IndyAudi crew.

I live Fort Wayne, clearly a boring place to live. We used to have a drag strip close to here until some retards starting building their homes next to the strip...then they complained that the drag strip was to damn loud, what retards!
I think that I am the only Elantra here in the Fort that knows of this site.

Wow... you guys need to get into the Indy nightlife... :) It's an upper class martini/cigar lounge right on the circle.

soullesselantra
02-08-2006, 06:12 PM
wow...those are two words that almost scare me...upper class...LMAO...i thought it was like a steakshop or something

shadow5606
02-08-2006, 11:00 PM
uh... I'm married... drive an elantra, like video games & home theatre...

Plus my idea of nightlife is a little bar w/ a good singer-songwriter playing... so, uh, yeah, upper class, martini's & cigars aren't a big part of my life..

But hey, different strokes!!

hey shadow...you know of a silver hatch with blue grille/graphics runnin around on the east side of town?

shadow5606
02-22-2006, 07:13 PM
hmm... don't think I've seen that one... definitely not seen one w/ a blue grill & honestly don't think I've seen any w/ graphics...

Most of the XD's I see are stock of course... I always wonder when I go by them if they notice my car and think "wow, people mod Elantras!" lol

There's one here in fishers though w/ a really bad spoiler "wing"... sits up a few feet in the air of the car w/ those metal frame brackets... :)

soullesselantra
02-22-2006, 07:25 PM
oh god...i hope i dont see that one, i actually work in fishers @ calltech...ive seen an XD and a J2 here...and of course mine...lol

02-23-2006, 08:18 PM
Hey Soulless, if you work @ Calltech you actually work right across from that fugly XD w/ the mega-wing... Go across the street to the Speedway, I think they work there because I've seen it there a lot... I hope they don't come across this post & feel bad someday though...

***Disclaimer*** I think big spoilers are silly but if you own your own car & paid for your own spoiler then there's nothing wrong w/ it!!! :)

lol

***End of dislclaimer***

soullesselantra
02-23-2006, 08:41 PM
does that disclaimer work on the Evo wing too... :(lol

BogiesHyundai
02-23-2006, 09:15 PM
the wing i hate the most is the triple stacked wing. i think its called a vador wing? idk but its really gay looking. sorry to all who have the wing though. no offense. not my taste.

soullesselantra
02-23-2006, 09:47 PM
that **** was on my del sol when i bought it...........nedless to say it made a nice place to set cans when i shot...lol...it was attached to a tree for about a year then it got shot to ****

shadow5606
02-23-2006, 11:22 PM
nah, the Evo spoilers are alright... they're still a little too much for me personally but with a kit I think they can work... Even though they're big, they're all plastic/fiberglass material that looks like the rest of your body work.

I was mainly talking about the spoilers that have the funky metal girder type brackets that get bolted onto the center of your trunk. And really, as much as I poke fun at them I'm all for people spending their money on the mods *they* like. I just don't see why people put them on cars that are 99% stock. I think you've really got to have a kit or wheels or something to go along with it.

I shouldn't talk about peoples taste though, now that I've got my Astrel kit installed I'm considering a dual offset racing stripe which a lot of people would flame me for!! :) :dj:

BogiesHyundai
02-24-2006, 09:33 AM
haha, yeah theres a lot of diffrent tastes out there. i personally have to have everything semetrical on side side to the other of my car. my car came with black stickers going down the side fender on one side, then i had to putthem on the other side cause it was bugging the $&!% out of me.

If we want to have a meet I'd say someone should just decide to host it & then post up some potential dates & coordinate the group. I'd offer but I'm in the process of doing the same kind of coordination for a HS reunion so I'm a little strapped for time. I'd have time to come to an elantra meet though, just not plan one.
