No, that's a square connector. Maybe something to do with heated seats?

It kinda looks like it to me...but it's been awhile since I disconnected mine to even remember what it looks like. I remember it being a 3 wire though, so it's certainly possible.

Ah, so it isn't the chime...

Well Justin, if your car works, and everything in it does too, then I wouldn't worry too much about it. Let it be someone else's problem when you sell the car, if it's even going to be a problem to begin with.

There are four places for switches in the "panel" thing left of the steering wheel. They are for:
- headlamp leveling
- rear foglamp
- rheostat
- headlamp washer
(from left to right)
So if your car misses one of those switches/functions, the plug is probably for that!

Does your dimmer switch work?

If the dimmer's not plugged in - none of the dash lights work.

It's probably for the rear fogs or one of the other features we didn't get in North America.

No, not that. I wired rear fogs into my car and there was no connector.

Headlight leveling is when you turn on your car, and your headlights scan up and down until they find the horizon. New Volvos/BMWs/Audis/etc have them.

I never said they did, I was just answering his question.

That is auto leveling!
Normal leveling is for when you load your car. The headlights point upwards a bit then. And to not blind the oncoming traffic, you can level the headlights in 3 or four steps.
In germany its obligatory for all cars!

so no one knows... dash is out right now but the connector was there before the dash was out so its nothing i disconnected today.

if someone gets around to it check your own car to see if you have something there.
