I have a straight through muffler right now and even though my car is turbo, I still think its too loud. I want it to be quiet with a factory performance sound. I was thinking of switching to a performance chambered muffler like a flowmaster.
- Has any one got any experience with one of these?
-Do you guys know of any other brands of chambered performance mufflers?
Thanks

Whoa, havent see u on for a while...
I have a knock off muffler. I was running a 2.5 hi flow cat with the muffler and was loud.
I put a stock nissan 350z resinator inline and hushed that bad boy up.
That with the header on.
With turbo installed it quited down a tad, but not much. but enough to notice.

I have a flowmaster under mine and I like it. I think my intake makes more noise than my exhaust at WOT. :D

A turbo should generally quite the exhaust note down. However, that's not entirely true when you've got a canister welded on with no resonator or muffler to slow it down.
If you want to replace the canister, then I suggest a Magnaflow or Flowmaster 40 Series. You'll want a 2.5" inlet/outlet though, so you don't restrict the flow too much.
Or, you can get a Magnaflow 2 or 3 chamber muffler, a small, and I mean small, oval one to put down the line of the exhaust. It would act like the OEM resonator, except it would muffle the noise. Look for true JDM exhaust systems, like HKS or GReddy, you'll notice they also have a muffler in the middle of the systems, with a canister as the tip/silencer.

I'm running the Vibrant 1147 3" inlet with no cat or resonator and it's kinda loud IMO. I originally purchased a Flowmaster and when we were doing the turbo and exhaust I got talked out of using it.
I'm now looking for something to quiet the exhaust down as well as dump the wastegate into the exhaust..Can't have a sleeper with a screaming wastegate.
