I'm sure many of you have already seen this, but if you haven't...
This is a must see movie, it's hillarious and scary at the same time.
The best part is "The Burning Fry" special feature.
I rarely (like once every four months) eat McDonalds, but I do eat Taco Bell 2-3 times a week. 7 Layer Burritos own me (before anyway comments on the poor grade meat, the 7 Layer doesn't have any). I love my Taco Bell but couldn't imagine eating it three times a day everyday. I think the most I've eaten it is 13 times in 12 days. I think I eat fairly healthy otherwise though, I eat a lot of fresh fruit and not many snacks or desserts. I don't even like eating Taco Bell before noon because it just doesn't get me right, but any other time I can definately eat it. And, I'll probably eat some for dinner tonight, yummy.

"I think I eat fairly healthy otherwise though" Isn't that kind of like saying I'm a good person except for that whole mass-murderer thing? Taco Bell, and all fast food for that matter is meant as a convienence, not subsistence for a healthy life. What bothers me about "Supersize Me" is the idea that Macdonalds is somehow resposible for peoples abuse of that convienence and the obesity that results. Spit out the qaurter pounder and do some push-ups, now there is a movie I would pay to go see. Forgive my rantings on this subject please only my opinion.

I walked by that movie at Blockbuster yesterday. I saw The Punisher instead. I'll keep that suggestion in mind though.

I completely agree. It isn't McDonald's fault that they are eating too much. I am over weight. Do I blame fast food, no. I normally only eat out maybe once a week. My problem is that I sit on my butt at work all day, then normally am too tired to go work out after work. I have been getting better and working out after work. I have drop some weight. I have 3 years to get myself into shap before heading to Philmont Boy Scout Camp. Yeah!

I don't eat meat (meat as in cow, bird, or pig) so I try to eat healthy myself, but my weakness is junk food (I am addicted to ice cream.). I work out 3 times a week so I hoping that will cancel out the bad stuff I eat. Taco bell is one of my favs too! I also like to go to subway, makes eating fast food ok.
Haven't seen the movie, but I agree that Fast foods are not to blame for us being overweight. That is why a lot of fast food chains are putting salads and other alternatives on their menu. Yeah you might choose the fries over the salad but they gave you a choice. Plus if they didn't shove it in your mouth it's not their fault.

Right, I also don't agree that you can blame the companies. In fact, the movie doesn't really attack McDonalds in my mind, it's more just showing what can happen if people continually eat poorly. In fact, much of the blame was placed on public schools and the type and kinds of food they offer, which isn't very healthy because they like to spend as little as possible. That reminds me though, our high school french fries were the best fries ever.

Haha, well I'm sure we'll all agree that killing people is far worse than eating Taco Bell. What I meant was that many people eat only food that is bad for them, and that's why they weigh 300 lbs. I mean, you met me, I'm 6' tall and 140-145 lbs. I was trying to say that eating fast food is ok if you aren't eating ALL the time and not excersing at all. I need to get one of those pedometer (I think that's what they called them) that counts the amount of steps I take and then see where I stand. Apparently some people walk as little as 2500 steps a day which was less than two miles. That's crazy, and I'm sure I walk more than that (the parking lot at school is probably 500 steps away).

Steven King in his short story "The Long Walk" told a story that sums up your point perfectly. He said that the average housewife in the course of a normal day walks fourteen miles and isn't really all that tired at the end of the day. If you got that same woman up at the crack of dawn and told her she had to walk fourteen miles before sundown she could do it but she would be completely exhausted! Sometimes we get our exercise without even realizing it. Hell even supressing the natural urge to strangle your annoying co-workers elevates the heart rate as much as a brisk stroll. Some junk-food for thought.....

saw the movie yesterday, Frightening indeed. I've had random fries in my Golf for years and they still look like NEW!!! EWWWWW!!!
I've been curbing my McDicks/Wendys/Snickers appetite over the last 2 months now, thankfully I didn't need the movie or physical ailments(sp?) to give me the incentive though. I'm back to the gym 4x a week, eating whole grain foods, fruits, vegies all the boring **** lol. 2 months ago I was at my heaviest ever 6' 207# 16% BF Currently back to 190# estimate 9-10% BF
Don't know if you watched one of the extra interviews with the Author of "Fast Food Nation" but one section happened to me exactely as descibed with one exception. A guy verbally assaulted me when I worked at McDicks when I was 15 for smoking on my break. Well this gent was very much overweight and when he said I "would DIE HORRIBLY from smoking" I shouted back at him that he'll need a triple by-pass LONG before I needed any medical attention due to smoking. Although I made a stupid argument he actually stopped and appologized.
