Do the fog lights on some of the newer cars automatically come on with the headlights? I have noticed lately alot more people driving with their fog lights on during clear conditions. I have especially noticed this on newer SUVs and pickup trucks.

i've noticed the same thing. but the answer is no they don't. some people might just leave the fog light switch on, so that when they turn on their headlights the fogs automatically come on. since fog lights are becoming standard equipment on more and more cars thesed days (especially SUVs) you might just be noticing it more.
slightly off topic, but one other thing i've noticed is that a lot of car mfrs allow you to use the fogs without the headlights on. the elantra GT fogs do not allow this. they only work with the low beams on. my DIY fixes this.

Is there an easy way to take foglights in my gt and make them run without the headlights. I'm also looking to change the bulbs in the foglights to yellow. I can't find how to change the fog light bulbs anywhere. I'm sure I could figure it out but if thereare any tricks it would be great to know.

good call on changing the bulbs to yellow. may not look "cool" like white bulbs but yellow is the best color for cutting through fog. millions of seafarers can't be wrong.
