Hi all,
my 98 Elantra comes with a CD+CasSette+Radio, Hyundai model H850.
Once after a garage disconnect the battery and put it back again, the radio gone. when I try to turn it on, there's no any display on screen, but power on indicator was there (a small red indicator).
I asked dealer and they say, there's no security radio on that.
I think the grage guy blowed up the fuse. Can it be like that if the fuse was blow out??
Thanx. :phone:

i think if it was a fuse, there would be no power at all to the unit (no red light) so i dont think its the fuse........ i had a jensen mp3/cd player and my battery died like 3 or 4 times in a one week period, and the jensen units cd player failed (radio still worked)
Thanx Buddy.
What u said do make some sence to me.
I will go back to the grarge and let they check it out.

Check your fuses again. The headunit needs both constant power and switched power to operate properly. It sounds like one of those sources are not sending power, which is why it shows it is recieving power, but will not turn on and operate. Do not just check the fuse marked radio, but all of them as the radio actually draws power from two fuses. If I remeber correctly, the second fuse is one row down and one fuse to the right of the "radio" fuse.
Finally, i found that the reason is, very simpl, the negative connection of battery is loose. after i tied it up, the radio is fine.
I think due to the loose connection, there's no enough current for the radio unit to operate normally.
thanx all!

Whenever I can't get electronics to work it is usually a loose ground. 9 out of 10 times it's the ground, the rest is blown fuses or resistors.
