Hey everyone again. I have been doing as much research as I can on the Beta engine in my 2001 Elantra GT, and have heard that the 2001 Tib engine is almost identical. First off, does anyone know that this is true or not? Secondly, if it is true, does this mean 2001 Tib aftermarket engine parts will fit my engine?

yes and no.

beta 1 engines were used in the tib until 02, while the elantra used the beta 2 from 01-03.

if you're talking about aftermarket pistons and rods, then the answer is yes.

but other things dont work quite the same.
