03s are not GLS models they were just called Elantras, they droped the GLS badges, they didn't mean sh!t anyhow.

Nothing. In fact I think they were still sold as GLS's, they just weren't badged as GLS's. It probably saved Hyundai $0.10 per car. That's all.

My 03 (build date 02-14-03) does have the GLS badge on the back. Noticed that others don't... what's the deal?

Like I said, they were just doing it because because because. There really is no difference. Hyundai might have shipped them with no GLS then your dealer could have put them on the 03's. Or they could have started later in 2003. Who knows... anyway, it's not very important I don't think.
