CAI Support Q?

I have looked at the DIY's for installing a 94-97 Accord CAI in my '02 GLS and I have yet to see any mention of support during installation. I noticed on SRI installations a bracket that comes off the side and mounts to the car. Is there anything like this for the CAI. I plan on installing this tomorrow afternoon. I fany one can help me with this information, I greatly appreciate it. :confused:

By support do you mean what holds up the CAI in place? If so, all you need is a tight connection at the throttle body and a tight barrier tape around the hole that you stick the tube through under the old airbox. My friend had his CAI welded to the side wall of the engine bay but that snapped off cuz his car (2001 Prelude) would of always whipped back when he floored it and after a couple months the weld just broke. So Just have protective tape where ever the CAI will bounce off since it moves along with the engine, except the engine has the rubber motor mounts.

You don't need to use a support bracket if you're routing the CAI through the hole to the right of the battery. There should be enough support there already because of the way the intake sits, like this...

It can't fall down, and it can't move up because it's surrounded by the battery, fusebox, etc. Just make sure you pad the area around that hole to avoid metal to metal vibrations.

yeah get a good surround for that hole and avoif metal on metal. I had a hole chewed right through my CAI by the end of one summer.

It looks like the kit came with some black "weather" stripping. I think I can use that instead of tape around the edge of that hole. What do you guys think?

Yeah, use it as long as it'll stay in place.
