Anyone have any catback sound clips they can somehow post? Also, what is the approximate gain from a catback system on an XD? I already have CAI on my cvvt.

I have some videos of my elantra. It has a custom 2.25 inch catback with a CAI. In these videos you are mostly hearing the cold air intake.

Thanks guys. Very nice. Not farty sounding like the Honda Civics, Any nasty droning at highway speeds? I had a Protege5 - did the air intake, which was fine. Then did their Mazdaspeed sport exhaust, and the droning was really bad. Really annoying on road trips.
I do love the sound of the xd engine. One of my favorite points about the xd.

When I first drove it on the highway I thought I was going to hate it because it seemed loud but like anything you get used to it and don't hear it anymore.
Only1db, I was thinking, when you get this exhaust you won't be able to have your car that low. At the meet it was sitting close to the ground and then with the muffler sitting below the bumper like it does, you might scrap a bit.

Dude, are you sure that's not a V-8 you've got recorded there? ;)
That sounds badass!!! I see in your sig that you have the SS Autochrome Header and a Flowmaster muffler. Are you using the stock pipes? Resonator?

yep stock pipe :( I really need to go with the 2.25 but i am just too lazy. I'm looking into getting a welder as i type this so who knows whats in the near future. No resonator, so the car sounds very loud. Very raspy, i dont like it very much.
Oh yeah the sound is when i have my VTech controller on ;)

flowmaster makes all the exhausts for all of the v-8 muscle cars so it is possible that they tuned the muffler to make it sound deeper then normal....its just the pitch of the exhaust gas....
Magnaflow, I love mine. Accelerating sounds great, full throttle is loud but NO FART, and on the highway its barely audible.

Do you have any pics of yours? What model is it? Is it a sleeper or is it one that hangs below the bumper?
It hangs, here lemme find the link with pics... and its Magnaflow Street Series #14801, http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2735&page=2&pp=20

reguardless to how flowmaster tunes the exhaust to how deep it is....in the sound clip u can hear all 8 cylinders pumping. otherwise it would sound relivant to the evofusion tuned exhaust. and even if it was really tuned to be that low u wouldnt have any backpressure wutsoever, and the car is definatly not turbocharged....lol
