I noticed that the 2011 Elantra doesn’t chime or make a nose if you leave the lights turn on (keys out) or if you leave the keys in the ignition and you open the door.
I see no mention in the manual about programming the car so it would chime for certain events. IS there a way to do this?
I don’t recall ever being in a car that didn’t warn you if you left the keys in and opened the door. Same with leaving the headlights turned on.
Thanks

When I was buying my 2011 Elantra, the dealer actually recommended to keep the lights in the "Auto" position which shuts them off about 30-45 sec after shutting off the ignition.
Also, I thought Hyundai's have been programmed to shut off the headlights when the key is removed from the ignition (at least that's how my old 2002 Elantra and my friance's 2010 Accent handle that situation).
As for the keys, with the Prox key, the car will not let you lock the door with a key in the car. It sounds a long beep at you and refuses to lock.

Yeah. You can't lock your keys in your car anymore and even if you leave the lights on, they shut themselves off (hell, my 04 does that). Funny that all of us XD owners wanted to delete the chime, and your looking to hook one up. Vicious cycle, lol.
