There are plenty of people with the 04 sri and cai..
you CANNOT remove the MAF sensor or the air temp sensor..
however the air temp sensor is not as critical as the MAF sensor... i've seen lots of people who just mount the air temp sensor to a bracket outside of the intake tract and leave it there... it will read under hood temperatures instead of the actual air intake temps but it still works fine... :)

on 04's the maf and temp sensor are one and the same. you can't seperate them

in that case, you have to retain the maf sensor :) LOL

Your car is MAF based, not MAP based if there is a sensor in the intake.
2001-2003 are MAP
Everything else before and after those dates are MAF.

so does that mean for the 01 to 03, the map sensor has nothing to do with putting in a cai?
and what about the air temp sensor

in the 01-03 models, the air temp sensor is built into the map sensor and it attaches directly to the front of the intake manifold... you are 100% free to install any intake that you want without worrying about any type of sensor issues :)
OHH YEAH !
