I saw an '04 Elantra in a parking lot the other day and decided to take a peek inside. I'm not a big fan of the changes they've made (particularly the vertical vents), but I do like the chrome H on the steering wheel, it gives the car a more expensive look.

My question is, has anyone swapped the center cap in their XD for the chrome one in the '04? Is it even possible? Also, if you have and you happen to know the part# and price, I'd really appreciate it.

I don't want to swap the entire steering wheel, so if Hyundai doesn't sell that particular piece, I'll just wait until one ends up in a junkyard and get it.

actually im pretty positive its painted like that from factory and i dont think its chrome at all . i was thinking about taking a small detail brush with some silver hobby paint or some other paint that would stay on forever to it recently . . might be my next project . . . its gonna take a steady hand and patience . . . i think ill try it in the next couple of weeks

This was talked about when the XD2's first came out. Basically you would need to paint it or get the XD2 steering wheel. Then at that point, you might as well pick up the more "sporty" looking Tiburon wheel.

Cool, thanks for the info guys. I guess I'm stuck with the way it looks, since I'd definitely screw it up if I tried to paint it, and I don't think I want to spend the money on a Tiburon wheel that only looks slightly different than the wheel I have now.
