I am not sure if any one else ever noticed this but when you take apart the driverside kick panel ther is a metal panel tha runs under the kick panel. You can remove it and put your kick panel back on thus saving a couple of pounds.
The first picture shows the kick panel just incase any one doent get what I mean by kick panel

Are you sure that isn't a safety feature so something doesn't crush you in an accident?

a way to save some weight is to take out your wallet, remove all money and credit cards, and then send them to me.
If you're loaded you'll lose a 1/2 lb or so.
:)... yeah, or not, any ways, I could use to lose some weight too.
Maybe we should start the "I need to lose some freaking weight" support group.
In the meantime, I think I'll remove the plate as well. Thanks for the tip.

actually Ronniesan, now that you mention it.. one of the problems with the elantra in the crash test results i read about show that the most damage to the driver was a result of knee/leg injuries due to impact with the kickpanel plate !!
So i think removing it might make it a little safer if you get hit on head-on in the front drivers side at 65 mph..
