I was wondering what the difference is between the short ram intake and a cold air intake...Which one is better???and do u have any suggestions of brands or anything??

You should do a search, but . . . since you're from Borger. (You don't work for Phillips 66 do you)

The are both low restriction intake systems - with a free flowing filter

Ultimatly a CAI (cold air intake) is better then a short ram because it will draw air from outside the engine bay, which is colder (hence the name). Usually the filter will sit inside the bumper whereas the short ram will pull air from the engine bay.

Colder air is more dense and contains more oxygen per unit volume.

Any cold air intake is basically the same. Rumor/dyno's have it that 2.5 inch tubing is better than 3 inch. You can make your own, buy one specifically for the Elantra for over 100 bucys or buy a cheap Ebay accord intake. See the very first, post under this fourm.

NOBODY has done a back to back SRI vs CAI dyno comparison OR 2.5 inch VS 3 inch CAI diameter dyno... ...

Therefore that theory is unfounded and irrelevant...

However I agree that the CAI will yield more power due to the denser air.

Hood spacers dont give u enough of a gain that it would be worth makin the hood like 15mm off the car. It will mess up the cars lines.

I find I have more power when I use my intake as a CAI as opposed to a SR. I switched it to an SR recently since it's the rainy season here and I don't want any water in my engine.

:iamwithst When I pulled off my CAI for winter I found a noticeable decrease in power, through the whole power band if I remember right...none the less a power loss.
