well, i need help with some wiring of my pioneer dvd player. there is a parking brake switch that has to be connected, or will not work. the pkg brake switch is a pressure switch. how can i bypass this. (search is my friend), but he's out for x-mas. lol thanks guys dave

there should be a blue wire coming off the e-brake switch. that's the one to hook into. it gets grounded when the brake is applied. if you want to bypass that safety feature, just ground the dvd player wire to ground. that way you can watch dvd's, all the while driving, talking on the phone and eating a burger like most americans. lol

THANKS!!! so all i have to do is, connect wire (pkg brake) from unit to a ground? thats it. it sounds so simple. thanks again southpawboston

can i piggyback the power wires from dvd player to the existing power wires from deck? workin on the install tonight and tomorrow. had a major break in the detroit weather. man i hope all this works

You should be able to piggyback the power wires to supply power to both your DVD player and stereo head unit as long as the total amps of current draw do not excede the factory fuse rating to the radio.

I believe that worst case scenario if you try that you might blow the fuse to the radio circuit, but no damage should result. If that occurs you'll probably want to pull power directly from the battery, possibly with a relay to shut off power to the DVD player when the car is off.

damn, installed it and i have no mounting brackets to mount in place. so i uninstalled and i have to wait for parts. :( i need the stock radio install brackets. i guess ill get them from dealership.
