So I've been doing some researching already, cause you can get cheaper rates if you book now.

For July 29-31. (this can always change - don't worry)

Adams Mark Hotel - Buffalo, NY - $101.51 for 2 doubles or 4 singles.
http://reservations.lodging.com/servlet/reservations.AvailabilityXML?propcode=GTA;265625&remote=&mastercode=&inmonth=7&inday=29&inyear=2005&outmonth=7&outday=31&outyear=2005&numadults=4&numchildren=0&numrooms=1

$100 for 4 beds?!?! That's hot. And if two people don't mind sneaking in and sleeping on the floor, that's even cheaper. And it has an indoor pool? 4 stars? C'mon.

Total cost for both nights (including taxes and fees) = $241.20
$241.20 / 2 people = $120.60 each person
$241.20 / 4 people = $60.30 each person
$241.20 / 6 people = $40.20 each person

wow...thats good...im sure people could bunk together to save some $$...admit it, we're just one big family! lol...as of right now, my FRIEND said she would be coming, so if another couple people wanna split a room , fine by me...seeing how itll be a couple nights, 50$ for 2 nights for 4 people, is better than 50$ for one night for 2 people

i seriously cant wait for this...ive been wantin to get together with a bunch of other elantra people so this should be good...

KeWLKaT
12-30-2004, 01:25 PM
Hahaha! No pics yet, he has the civic in his garage (it's winter and he still has his 1986 Chrysler Dynasty) and has all his parts in his room, just like me :D (so it's stock for now) I think it's a '98 coupe (si?) We are going on a tuning rampage in mid-may or beggining of june, when we finish our studies. It's going to be something amazing, we will install everything in a week or so, turning my garage into a customs shop :P

Anyhow, I'm sure we're gonna have a blast over there so it's ok to have a honda somewhere in the pack :D

Nice! OK: if we have families and stuff too (I'll bring my woman along) we should also include some kind of a huge 'BBQ party' kind of thing. (of course, with tons of prizes :D )

Just an idea. But I don't know the area so I don't know if it will be possible.

Also: can someone inform me of the paperwork I need in order to pass the US borders? I haven't done that since I turned major here. (passport, some signed paper?, etc...)

NOT four beds, 4 bodies in 2 beds. Still the 101.50 is a great rate their regular price (from thier web site is 149 USD & up). Altho they have a great military rate of 81.00

https://www.adamsmark.com/

it has a good rating for this particular hotel.

If we can get the local ones from here to agree on a time we all can leave together. Anyone else local going? Already to my boss i was going.

well i know several people have said there gona go over to canada and get trashed im not one of those ill be stayin on the us side more tahn likely

XWRed5W3
12-30-2004, 11:37 PM
Well, I can get trashed on either side, so I don't really care. :D :D

Yeah, and according to lodging.com,
"Quad: Contains two double beds or four beds in a room suitable for accomodating four adults."
It's a hotel - I assume they have rooms with 4 singles. Or they could move 4 singles into a room for you. It would be rather dumb/inconsiderate/bad business if they didn't.

Kids are coming? Aw man. Kids and I don't get along. Well, as long as they're behaved. But I should warn you I have zero patience.

That's good info.

Let's try to keep this thread dedicated to hotel info and planning. Then use the other thread for actual event planning. That should keep everything easy.

12-31-2004, 12:42 AM
Ok. First: I suggest to make a poll to know on what side we want to be: CA or US? It's a big deal, there is some paperwork involved... Just to know, because I asked around and I get multiple answers.

12-31-2004, 03:57 AM
I'm not sure if I'll be able to cross the boarder. I really want to, but not sure if I'll be able to.

I think people should decide for themselves weather or not they want to go to CAN.

Great rates btw guys! and keep it more on topic and feel free to start any new topics, or go back to the original one!

evan938
12-31-2004, 04:04 AM
jeffv that should be cool...im tryin to see if chokinghazard wants to fly to columbus from CO (i think) and drive up w/ us...be a PITA for him to drive 2 days here, and another up to NY...although, he does have a nice system...might be worth it to drive 3 days to show it off lol

FWIW...i will definatly be going to canada...wanted to for my 19th birthday, but that didnt happen...be wierd to go out and get hammered legally in public :)

04GTboySC
12-31-2004, 10:48 AM

Yeah, and according to lodging.com,
"Quad: Contains two double beds or four beds in a room suitable for accomodating four adults." My bad, I had never seen a hotel room with 4 beds, unless it was called a suite.

Not trying to put a damper on things but form the it does say

"SELF PARKING 6.25 PER DAY. VALET PARKING 12.00 PER DAY"

& Lodging.com it says Cancellation Policy:

Reservations must be cancelled 3 months in advance to avoid any cancellation fee. If cancelled more than a week in advance (and less than 3 months) of arrival a cancellation fee of one night room and tax or $25 which ever is less will be charged. If cancelled more than 72 hours in advance (and less than or one week) of arrival a cancellation fee of one night room and tax or $50 which ever is less will be charged. If cancelled less than 72 hours in advance of arrival, one night room and tax will be charged. Cancellation or changes made after check-in are subject to 100% penalty. No refunds will be made for no-shows or early checkouts

I was looking at the hotel main site

http://www.adamsmark.com/buffalo/index.asp

They have no mention of the 4 bed rooms.

Over all it does look lile a really nice hotel.

I have been involved with 2 meets so far & I am trying to look out for the good of the group. I know at the Baltimore meet the sooner you made the reservation the cheaper it was but there was a 24 hour cancellation rule with no penalty. & I forgot how many claimed they were coming (& we all know how things can change at the last minute) & how many actually came & stayed..

I went to Yahoo maps, put in Buffalo & then add local hotels & got
http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?zoomin=yes&name=&ed=iDJBQOp_0To2kaIbgbpo7kxMlfxHS1lXVCKAx9Zd_QqpyYp noebifX9r0UCrdhiUPgpDvOfknpl2ryx6it0OPRE9xA--&state=NY&csz=Buffalo%2C+NY&ds=n&uzip=14202&mag=4&desc=&country=US&dma=514&cat=trav&resize=s&trf=0&rezoom=1&.intl=us&compass=&pan_x=0&pan_y=0&panable=1&BFKey=ho#mapcontent

There are nine hotels in the area

while not in downtown Buffalo there is a Holiday Inn Express (over by the "E" in the map)

I looked it up at http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/hd/bufct?irs=y

& it looks pretty decent & I think it might be a little more laid back.

There is a Holiday Inn downtown but I have found the HI Express are a little nicer, plus free breakfast & an area to hang around or meet
There is a Best Western & Hyatt Regency Buffalo, but start with lower prices but I have not checked what it would be for that weekend.

I'll look them up & post some info

I don't know, just a suggestion. I am looking out for the good of the group

Will do. At the Baltimore Meet, someone found a Ramada on Hotel.com it wasn't a bad deal. I searched around & found a better Ramada with rates & was closer to the park, that were just as good & it was a better hotel. & you remember what it was like just getting 6 XDers out of there & not losing any of them. :D

http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/hd/bufct?irs=y

Right now I have rates from 80.99 (for 1 queen), to 89.09 for a double (w/5per room) to 109.99 to a King Mini suite(w/5 poeple).

AAA/CAA drops the price to 78 , 88 & 98 for the same , whoo hoo a 2RM JACUZZI for 118.00 All are non smoking rates.
Gov rate is 81 for a king room or a 2 double bed room. & parking is free. Who knows what mods we will complete this time
Like the other hotel you have to remember there is a 13.9 % tax on the room.

04GTboySC
01-01-2005, 10:24 AM
lol its to early to think about mods well i can get a room there with a jacuzzi and share that haha but thats not a bad find at all hmm

Just a note
My kids probably know more and are more well behaved than some adults . They actually help me mod sometimes. Plus, who would get more excited about a modded car than a kid. What I mean is, aren't we all still that kid with a matchbox car in their hand going " Someday, I will have one of THESE!" haha

If I bring my kids they are well behaved.......If they are not (not likley) they will feel some lightning from mama. ;)

I plan on attending....I will be driving up from Florida with a stop in Maryland, maybe NY. Any plans on a "stop-over" meeting place for folks?

Price is one thing, do you know anything about the hotels ? I don't want some dirty or flea bag place to stay. Look around for reviews for different hotels, we do have time, heck this is 7 months away. ;)
I'm not bringing a wife or kids but if I did I want something for them too do. ie a pool, & have it a nice stay, not every one will be running 100% of the time & at the Baltimore meet we did spend sometime hanging in Rob's ?? room.
If eveyone could put an extra $ 10.00 a week away till the show you would have lots of money. (40 a month, 7 months = 320). Heck that is 512 CDN
I'll get of my hotel soapboax for now. we still have 6 months to get ready

Cool make all the arraignments & I'll show up unannounced & stay with someone there. :diablo: Settle Down <grin>, :poke:
Look at the Baltimore meet well over a dozen people said they were coming , OP & Rob had a great plans, they all worked out well.
We were lucky to get 6 people at the hotel & a few more at the cook out. March is over two month away & by that time this thread will be 48 pages long... :abovelol:
It is a weekend , I know some one who lives & works in the area & I have not gotten in touch with them yet to find out what is the deal there. Remember this is an unsponsered event & just a bunch of folks getting together. Damn it I'm on my soap box again LOL :hand:

Not only do we have to worry about were we sleep at night, we're gonna have to make arrangements (probably have a relay...one of us who lives up in niagra falls or someone willing to scope it out) to find a place to set up shop....we need a place to line up all the cars we're going to get! (that is if we do get accents and tiburons and sonatas...and santa fes...and you get the idea)

Niagra falls is always CRAWLING with tourists...what better way to get the attention of people who know NOTHING about hyundai, eh?

We need to rent out somewhere...be it inside or outside (i've seen videos of srt-4/tiburon meets inside...incase it rains)

How can we get this all sorted out??
