Hey guys I recently got a crappy install done by circuit city that im still getting worked out, but I've been having a problem with my sub box moving all over the trunk. Is this normal or is there something I can do to keep it in place. My amp is attached to the box and the wires are stretching and the other amp fell off of it somehow. Should I just mount the amps to the backs of the seats or leave them on the box?

and these were installed by the same place that forgot to put the dynamat in and also ran out of solder so just taped the wires? geeze...
there's nothing wrong with mounting the amps to the back of the seats if that's what you want to do.

So is threre a way to keep the sub box from moving around the trunk like around turns. It slides like crazy and pulls the cables.

you can install brackets but that would mean drilling into the the car and the sub box. i prefer something else: velcro!!! put 3" square pieces of velcro on each corner of the sub box and the trunk floor and voila!! and it's easy to remove the box when you have to use the trunk.

I've used that non-slip stuff that you can buy to put down in your kitchen cupboards. Just a small square piece and my box stopped moving around.

I'll try the velcro trick.

i would just get 2 "L" brackets and mount em to the box and then put a bolt thru the piece that goes over the spare tire and put a nut on the bolt underneath...should cost you about 5$ and shouldnt move at all...also, this would probably be a little bit more "theft-deterrant" than velcro...it would be a hell of a lot harder to get a box that is mounted to that big *** piece in the trunk then to rip it off some velcro

However most speaker boxes are heavy, enough to cause a hernia. Most of the time, you just want it to stay put.
I usually use L brackets or even drill a hole or 2 through the inside of the sub box and floorpan and bolt it down(this requires removing the subwoofer to install or remove the bolts, but is one of the best ways to keep it from being stolen). Velcro will help keep it from sliding, but if you have a sudden stop, turn, or even worst, an accident, the box will move and could even become a flying projectile that could cause some serious bodily harm. Also, bolting it to the floorpan not only makes it allot harder for someone to steal, but most insurance companies will not cover your subs and amp unless they are ATTACHED to the car when stolen. I have seen a few claims for stolen audio equipment denied because they could not prove the amps and sub box were attached to the car. If they are not attached(bolted to the car), they are considered easily removable items and are not covered, just like a radar detector or even a gym bag or purse would not be covered if stolen from your car. Take a couple of pictures of the sub box and how it is attached to the car just in case you should ever need to file a theft claim with your insurance.
