Ok people, I need someone to tell me which wire in the engine bay fuse box can be tapped ..

I need a 12v source that is HOT while cranking & hot while running..

You can test with a voltmeter if you wish, but for the most part in our cars...red is switched and yellow is constant.

I suggest going with a relay on an ignition wire. This way, you won't burn out the system.

fuel pump relay (E49) pin 2 (red)

I would use a relay on the devise itself as well. When I installed my shock sensor to my factory alarm, I added a relay to turn off the sensor once the engine is started. This allows a higher amp rating to the devise you need to power.

I think I was just able to trace 2 wires from that harness that are hot while cranking...

sweet... i'm going to patch into one of them for my switched power source :)

it's for the MSD ignition system ford just installed....
