Yes, you heard me.
I want to integrate my SNES to my XD. Has anyone here every heard of this? How can I achieve that?
BTW, I'm 100% serious about this.

Wouldn't it be the same as adding an Xbox or PS2. You would just need to find a power adapter for 12V for the SNES. But the rest (controllers, TV) is the same.

Dude, dont do the SNES the box and the cartidges will just take up too much space. Ever heard of emulators/roms? Type it on the internet and then learn more. Better off getting a modified xbox with emulators or a mini computer. Plus i dont think an old SNES can take the vibrations of driving and ****..

Ok nice.
No, you don't understand, it HAS to be the SNES. I will modify it myself for it to be solid and everything... Don't worry. But for the 12v source, how do I tap it into the car system? Is there something I might use? Or will I have to make my own wire?

If your head unit has an RCA auxilliary input, it's just plug-and-play. If not, you will need to get an FM modulator to get the signal through.

On the back of your stereo, you may have a standard "RCA" audio input for an auxilliary device. If so, you can connect your SNES directly to your stereo and get the audio from it wqhen you choose the "AUX" input. If not, you will need a FM modulator similar to this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50552&item=5737780190&rd=1&ssPageName=WD1V
Your audio outputs from the SNES connect to this, and it turns the signal into a radio signal. You need to connect the FM Modulator to a power source, ground, and to your antenna input on the back of your stereo. With this device, you will recieve the sound just like a radio station - you set the frequency with the modulator.

any 12v will do... i don't think a SNES is gonna pull a lot a juice. The wiring to the lighter is an obvious choice.... If you want to have power even when the car is off, you might need to run power straight from the battery....

i seen it done a guy with a newer model impalla had one in the back , it was cool, retro-like
it sould not be any different than a ps2 set up ,i could hook up an atari 2600 to my tv in my glovebox if i wanted to...really i can
ok heres what you do.
Go to pepboys and buy a 200 amp power converter. Its the same as when I installed my dreamcast.
Get a 12v screen, make sure it has RCA inputs. Install the screen and hook up the power convertor to switched power. Put the SNES wherever you want and hook up the rca cables to the screen. If you were in FL I would do it for you in seriously like 20 minutes :)
I ran my power from a distrubution block from the battery and I hooked it up to the switched turn on from the lights, so the car has to be running with the lights on to turn on the dreamcast, since I don't want people sitting in my car draining my battery playing games.
PM me if you need further instructions.

you will need a power inverter. about 65.00 for autoparts stores, walmart, radio shack. then you plug the power cord of the game unit into the inverter, then theres another wire that you plug into the cig lighter socket.
DONE :D
make sure to get a large enough power inverter to handle the snes game system. dont want to fry anything

I agree with ctele02:

No, you don't understand, it HAS to be the SNES.
Damn straight I don't understand, you didn't give a reason why.
You can use a SNES controller with a mini-pc and emulators without a problem, have every single game ever created for it, + NES + Amiga + Gameboy + PS + PS2 + XBox + etc... ALL together.
LOL Sorry just noticed old thread... :D
