do these things glue to the face of our current HVAC unit? Wont they look crappy? Holw do they get wired up? Are there any benefits to this over an LED conversion?

The LED conversion is a PITA!!! I still haven't got mine working right. These also give you more color. The icons are 2-color, and you can't do that with the LEDs. There may be a DIY on this from when the white-face ones came in a couple months ago, but they aren't difficult... you just have to be careful to line them up right....

The previous ones (the white-face ones) did not include pieces for the buttons.

On the 01-03's the buttons aren't green on the inside, so replacing the bulb with a red or blue one will be enough to make them match.... on the 04-05, I'm not sure.... never had one of those open....

For the 04-05 Buttons you need to get creative the 04 does not have the dedicated bulb for the 3 buttons I would just change all 3 bulbs to red and Done It will contrast bautifully
