I am trying to access www.hyundai-motor.com but my I keep getting an IE screen that say cannon find server? is anyone else having problems accessing the global website for hyundai-motor.com? or is it just me?

This is a funny post, well kinda.

I posted the same thing a while back, for some reason it didn't work on my computer for about 8 months, then one day (just recently) it started working again. I tried a whole bunch of things with no luck. Sorry.

I did an NSLookup and found the IP was 211.189.173.11

Then I did a ping and got:

Pinging 211.189.173.11 with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 211.189.173.11:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

So, unless the majority of DNS servers out there have the incorrect IP address. I would say the site is down.

How can the site be down if it's working for most of us? And like I said, I had this same problem before, there's a post about it somewhere.

a lot of webservers are now setup so that you cannot ping them... it's a defense against DOS attacks and hacking attempts...

Well I just found out that if you are on DSL it works, I have High Speed Cable at home and at work, doenst work at either places.

I was on DSL last night when I could not get on. And this morning I'm on DSL and can get on. I did a Ping this morning and got:

So their site does not shut down ping requests. It was just plain not working from time to time yesterday.

Maybe your I.E. is screwed up. Try installing Firefox and seeing if the site comes up (I just visited it on both I.E. and Firefox right before posting this).

I'm using a wireless broadband connection (approximately T1 speed).

I installed and tried using other web browsers, Netscape and FireFox. Both did not work. I contacted my ISP and they looked in to it and apparently there proxie servers will not allow my local ISP to access it, but other ISP in other city's can. We have a national cable ISP here in Canada. (Shaw Cable) They said they are going to have it corrected in about 2 hours time. Will let you know what happens!

I got Firefox to try it before as well, with no luck. And, although most people tell me that Firefox is better overall I like IE more, oh wells.
