Stick is a cakewalk. It'll take you half an hour of neighborhood driving to quit stalling at every light and in a month you'll wonder why you ever bought an auto. I learned to drive stick when I bought my '04 back in April, and won't go back to an auto until I've got at least two kids distracting me from enjoying the feel of the car... that is to say, never. :D You're from largo, you'll understand - I drove off the lot and took the car home down I-270 and around the Maryland side of the Beltway to rt. 50 east... on a Friday afternoon. Rush hour is t3h suck when you are just learning stick, but after running that gauntlet everything else is easy.
