Hey guys,
I have Chianti Red, and when washed and armor all'd up looks great. But I do notice a lot of swirls. What's the best way to get rid of them? I was going to take it to a detail shop and for ~$100 have them detail inside and out and ask them to buff the paint. Suggestions?
I didn't want to spend 3 hours buffing the paint only to find I made it worse or no difference at all.
Thanks!

yeah...swirl marks. I was told that modern cars have clear coat and waxing is a waste of time??

You need to regularly wax any paint job, clear coat or not.
To get rid, at least temporarily the swirl marks is to wax it with a good wax. The swirls will return because that is the result of daily use and regular washing.

use a hand/machine glaze with a swirl remover. you may need to wheel the paint out for best results. and always use a high quality wax. this will help. also make sure you use a clean wash mit, clean chamois, wax applicator, and to remove wax a microfiber cloth works best. i am a detailer and i can recommend some high quality products if you like.

i will never use any products that can be purchaced at a store. they just dont do the job. commercial grade products will work properly and more efficiently. swirl remover is from a company called wizards. the swirl remover is called shine master polish & sealant. www.wizardsproducts.com. thay also have a great medium compound called finish cut. and a great heavy duty compound called turbo cut. caution when using turbo cut. this is a HEAVY cutting compound. a great interior (leather, ect.) i use on my car b4 car shows is called vinyl shine. hope this helps. if you have any questions at all, pm me. hope this helps.
always use a clean wash mit when washing. and a good chamois.a microfiber cloth removes waxes easily and wont scratch. aviod using bath/hand towels on the paint, this will scratch the paint.
another product that i use inbetween washes is eagle one wax as u dry. this can be bought anywhere.

After a finish like that...all I'd need is a flux capacitor and 1.21 gigawatts and I can go back and kick my own *** for getting married. Oh crap...did I just say that out loud...AGAIN? ;)

I get my products from my commercial supplier. Meguires and Klasse have good results, but there are other products available that have the same or better results.
I have been using a Dupont teflon polish that works well, but it works better if the car is super clean. I first tried it by hand, but found if I used a polisher at medium speed works better because the car had not been polished after I resprayed it with the suprashield clear paint (a high tech paint that resists most scratches and rock chips) a year ago.
After 4 months, the car still looks good (pardon the clarity, taken with a camera phone).
