Alright...
Today, I decided that I wanted to match my interior lights with my sexy GT gauge color.. (purple-blue?). Now, I don't know how to achieve this, because the color is pretty rare (correct me if i'm wrong). Has anyone done this before and could help me?

maybe.... or try a red film behind what ever you're making purple
and keep in mind that stuff like the HVAC already has green in it... so that will make it harder....

hvac isnt that big of a deal, i'm talking more like lights that are very noticable: ignition ring, clock, cig lighter, ashtray, map lights, etc, etc... (haha, i don't think there's anything else)

stop making excuses and do it. i changed my HVAC lights to blue LEDs and you know what...that thing is far enough from the guages that you can't really tell that it's that much different. ignition ring i made blue also with an LED and it's rather nice looking too. the clock is easy if you have 01-03 just use transparant colored plastic or vinyl. i used red. actually red is way easier to match but i didn't want too much red in my car.

Alright... What LED type/color do you suggest me to use then?

I too, have been wanting to match my gauges with the purple gt gauges. I just have not had time. I would check with your local Hyundai dealership, and see if you can buy the gt bulbs; and use those to change colors. For the HVAC I am getting in on the group buy for the reverse indiglo. Another thing I would try if I had the time is to call the companies that sell the bulbs, and see if they have any recommendations on matching the gt gauges. I love the gt gauge color and would like to make all the gauges this color as opposed to changing the color of everything.

I'm pretty sure this has been explored before and the GT cluster uses a different style of lighting than the GLS making a straight swap not possible.
Could be wrong though...
here are my window switches

forget changing bulbs to get the color you want for HVAC....there's green film on the back of the icons that will screw with the color. it's no problem with LEDs cuz they're really bright. reverse guages for the HVAC unit might be the way to go for those who don't feel comfortable doing the LED swat. window switches on the other hand are rather easy to do using LEDs

Well...in the next week I am exploring many possibilities to change the interior lighting to that purple/blue GT style color (or any color besides Blue and red, which are all that have worked so far)
...I am trying things that other people have not done (painting/new leds that just came out/new tints and covers) and am sure that one of them will be successful to create a factory-appearance lighting solution.
I will likely start posting my tests/results monday night (if my items arrive in the mail)
THE ONLY THING I REALLY WANT THAT I CANT LOCATE SO FAR IS A SPARE 2004-2005 GLS GAUGE CLUSTER

Hey guys...2 questions:
Where are folks getting their LED's?
and
Where are folks getting this "transparent plastic film" I hear so much about?
Thx

i got my LEDs from LSDiodes.com. transparant plastic....people have used plastic folders, water bottles, transparant vinyl and colored piece that are used for stage lights (can't remember the name).
