Ok... so as some of you may or may not know... i've got pretty big plans for the Elantra... I've already started my Suspension project, i have my OEM rear sway bar and my RRM front strut bar is in the mail. I am also about to order eibach springs and dampers... After the suspension was done, which would of been mid febuary, i was going to get a Rotora Big Brake kit, and Turbo would follow after...

But i was talking to some people... and then a thought popped into my head...and i remembered...Mazda offered me a MazdaSpeed Miata for $20k, brand new... Then i started thinking... and by the end of February i will have about $2k for a down payment plus my parents owe me $800...

The payments would be around $400 a month, up from $241... not sure what insurance would be. I still have to check on that...

But this option is VERY tempting... altho i just poured a bit of money into this Elantra already. I have a set of rims that won't fit on the Miata, I just put Tint on the elantra, i have the Tib sway bar, JUST ordered the RRM front strut bar, i have ground wires...Plus all the labor i put into putting my HU and Sub woofers into the car...all in all it totals to about $700 i've already spent on this car, and i've only had it for about a month.

I could take all the parts off and sell everything, but i'll probably only make about $400 of it back.

I dont know what to do, i'm torn between the 2... I've wanted a Convertible for the longest... and i've also wanted Turbo for some time now...

In my Opinion the Miata is better in every way, faster, handles better, looks better, better everything.

But here's the thing stopping me from jumping right on it... I'm in college, and after i make the payment on my Elantra at the end of the mont i have about $400 spending money... if i got the Miata, that would be cut to about $100 a month... *sigh* i dont know.. help me :-( lol

ha...do this...check the resale value on your elantra...find out what you can get for it, and what you owe, then think of wanting the miata...you probably owe like...what 12k? you might be able to sell it for 9-10.

youre out 2k right there...at least

Your definitely gonna lose a lot of money, but if your mind was originally set on a Miata, you might as well spring for it now then wait even longer to lose more money.

Being that you're a college student, I assume that you probably don't have a stable 9-5 job, unless you're working full time and going to school full time also. Going from $241/month to $400 is a big jump, even if you can afford it. I'm assuming you're under 25 also, so before getting the Miata find out how much more your insurance will cost.

If you were serious about turboing your Elantra, you might as well get the Miata to satisfy that turbo desire right off the lot. Think of it this way: You're gonna lose money no matter what, but had you kept the Elantra you would have spent that money on putting a turbo on the car, on top of that it would not be under warranty. With the Miata you'll get at least a 3 year/36K mile warranty and you don't have to worry about tuning the car properly to be a daily driver. Plus, the Elantra would never be as sporty as the Miata.

yeah dn get a Miata that wouldnt be a good move cuz in a few years you will prolly out grow the car and new more room unless you have another car....i really dont understad whats the big deal they seem really gay...not saying a elantra is a mans car but the miata is for men that like men or old as dirt trying to relive their youth.hook your elanttra up at least you wont see one like your and will stan out more than if you had a miata

400/ month for an evo? maybe to lease it lol...

kid i talked to at a meet last year had one...his dad cosigned for it, and they got some ridiculously low interest rate, and he was payin 565/month

if insurance wasnt so high, maybe if i get this new job, id look into one
