cracked a rim last night :(

well to make a long story short pot holes suck in chicago!
cracked one of my motegi mr7's BAD!
surprised i didnt blow out the tire!

well does anyone have a spare 17" mr7 in gunmetal laying around they want to sell?

That sucks! I know what you mean about Chicagoland potholes. Best bet for a loose rim cheap would be eBay, other than that I know Pep Boys sells Motegi MR7s in gunmetal (Almost bought some there). Sorry to hear bout your misfortune.

At least you can still get a replacement rim my first set I had on the car went out of business and I couldn't get a replacement now I have three rims sitting on my back porch. Sucks about your rim though

got my new rim and got it on!!!
the only thing i hate is that its so shiny compared to the other 3!!!

heres the flame part of the convo!!!
i spent 150 + dollars to discount tire to get me this rim and INSTALL IT!
well they got the wheel mounted and balanced on the rim and they proceed to tell me that they cannot install the rim on my car due to liability issues!
(because they have to take off the 2 factory bolts that hold on the rotor!)
they said my car would not drive if they were taken off!
i basically told the guy he was a Fuc|<ing idiot and to put my new rim in my back seat and i will put it on my damn self!
the guy argued with me for a 1/2 hour saying how "hyundai" and ONLY hyundai cars cannot have those bolts removed!

if you ask me the guy is a flamming homo that didnt want to work!
i took the car home and after calling my good ol canadian buddy craig (carbon)
i had everything put on in 10 minutes drove around the block and my car didnt fall apart!!!! what a fuc|<ing miracle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

on saturday i work out by the discount tire place, i think i might leave a 1/2 hour early for work and drive my car up and down there parking lot for a 1/2 hour to show them nothing is wrong!

car is finally back to normal tho!

that sucks hard...i had that happen as well, and didn't feel like paying through the nose for a replacement wheel that was just as likely to bend. i did manage to sell those rims with the car though, so at least i don't have piles of rims building up.

sigh...what a shame. i really did like those wheels too. :(

anyway, yeah...glad to hear that you weren't out too much coin. just curious...what kind of air pressures were you running in the tires?
