Are 01-03 GLS clusters interchangeable with GT

The title says it all...I don't have an 01-03 electrical manual (only for my 04) and my bro wanted to switch out the GLS (auto) cluster in his 02 with a GT cluster....will it work? Or is it the same situation as the 04 GLS and GT differences?

it will work if you splice the connectors on the old cluster with the new cluster,

but you will have to know the pin specific locations of allthe wires.
