SO... same thing as KDM headlights, for a lot less. You also removed the 'waffle' lense over the parking light didn't you? Looks like... I want to see more pictures of it on the car. Good job so far though.

Looks good, but you need some contrast, other thar your tires and windows your car is Silver

I like it. I'm considering painting the inserts in my headlights rally-red to match my car. I've always liked that look.
I'd like to see pics of your turn signals once you put the unit back on your car; I want to see how bright it is without the clear waffle-print diffuser over the bulb.
If you could post pics when you've got it put back on, that'd be great.

Looks good.
I was thinking of doing the same thing but I might just end up buying the chrome fixtures. I think chrome will look better than white....IMO.
Oh BTW, do u have angel eyes on ur brights? If so where did u get them? I have seen other cars w/the thin angel eyes but I like those better. Almost like the new BMWs.

how difficult was this mod. Just basically removing the the orange portion correct?

Yeah I did this mod like 2 years ago when I painted the housing to match my Chianti red GT and also put in the angel eyes I made..
Then came the accident lol....I was able to save one headlight so it's in my closet untill I get off my lazy *** to do the other headlight....lol

OK since you guys are experienced at this mod...I'll ask you: I read the DIY about this mod and it seems simple enough. But what method did you use to seperate the lense? Did you throw it in the oven like the DIY suggests? What about a hairdryer and an razor blade? I'm leary of using the oven...I'm afraid of damaging the light.
Thoughts?

You wont damage the lights... No bulbs inside.

I used a heatgun and a putty knife the whole seperation took all of 5 minutes
I am sure the over will work just as fast. I do suggest u remove all the old putty and put new stuff on when putting it all back together though. u can heat the tube up in boiling water and put it on the back part then put them together, while it is still warm that way as it dries it also seals.

...basically anything hot enough to melt the old 'glue'.

250 degrees for 5 to 8 minutes, keep checking it
Did you have the neon angel eyes??

CAUTION! 250 degrees for 5 to 8 minutes is way too hot my light pod melted very quickly when I tried my second light in oven to see if it was easier. this sucks! I say 2 minutes MAX maybe it just depends on the oven as well, some may heat up faster then others.
either way I now need another drivers side light pod.

I was watching it the whole time it sank out the bottom and I could not see it till it was too late, but no biggy, I bought a couple right hand pods off of Ebay, but no left hand ones were cheap.
