Just installed new OEM spoiler...opinions?

I love that spoiler! It looks really clean. Good job on the install. Drilling into the hatch would make me sooo nervous. :bowdown:

Thanks! I measured like 5 times...and even then (with the templates) was like...Oh crap...here I go. Luckily...w/ the FAQ on this site and the instructions included w/ the spoiler...it was really a breeze.

Funny thing happened though during the install. After you mark where the holes will be drilled...you use a set punch to make indents in the hatch (for drilling). I did 3 of the 4 w/o any issue. When I did the 4th one...the punch went clean through the metal in the hatch. I was like "OH @#%". But luckily it was smaller than what I needed so no biggie. I'm just curious as to why it was so easy to punch through that metal. I looked underneath...and noticed a weld like point on the underside...which is why it was weak there. Question is...why was it like that?

Oh well...it's on and I'm happy!

Good stuff, I've always thought that spoiler was the best for the hatchbacks. Doesn't make sense that HyundaiUSA didn't have it as an option here.

Next step, get some XD2 taillights for it, it'll look nice.

For those asking where I got it: I ended up ordering from the Hyundai dealership in Toronto, Canada. They shipped it to me and arrived w/in 2 days for $24. Had it painted for 125.

Next on my list is exhaust. :)

haha, jfwy. It looks good. I totally understand the feeling of being nervous about drillig the holes in the car. When I put my spoiler on, I'd raise the drill get it centered, then step back and think about it, repeat the process, think about it some more.... it was hard to pull the trigger, lol. But the results are great - good job!

I've tinted at 35%...that's all they allow in this state...for God only knows why.
