I finally got the set I ordered. Not impressed  . At least they have a 2 yr. warranty, so I'll be taking advantage of that when needed. The bulb's themselves are very well constructed, the filiment appears reinforced. Has anyone taken off that low beam bulb cap in the headlight assembly? What is it for, to hide the bulb or for glare or something? Maybe if the bulbs were exposed, it would give more of the "real" HID effect I paid for.

so are they too blue or not white enough?

They are barely brighter/whiter than stock. Not bright or blue enough for me. I'm gonna order the PIAA Super Plasma Plus H3's for my fogs and see if I like those better. If I do, I'll upgrade to those for my High and Low beams as well if I can find a deal on them.

I had the PIAA's. I felt I had wasted my money and now only buy from Global Premier to date. They are brighter and my last set lasted over a year.

The cap prevents moisture and such from getting to the connector/bulb area.

I think he's referring to the cap in front of the bulb, not the cap that encloses from behind. That cap is there to reflect the light properly, otherwise you'd be glaring everyone else.

PIAA makes nice bulbs, but they are way overpriced. I bought a set of H7 Plasma when they weren't available in the U.S. yet and I had to import it from Japan for around $100. If the HID look is what you're going for, you might as well save up your money for an actual HID system.

That cap on the front is for glare? The bulb itself has a thick blue coating on the top, which I assume would reduce direct glare when installed. If that's the case, I'll remove that thing on one and see what the difference is. If its not acceptable, I can buy a new headlight off of E-bay I guess.

What bulbs from GP did you buy, the regular wattage or the high wattage?
Which colour temp also?

I'm looking for something brigther but I don't want anything that looks too blue.

I bought Silverstars, and they are bright white, no blue at all...

Sorry, my mistake on the "cap". Yes, I paid about the same for my PIAAs... they lasted less than 6 months.

8500, high wattage. No blue, all white. Just my .02

Alright, I just got in my H3 PIAA Super Plasma GT-X fogs in. Damn, these are very nice, like a purple/blue halo. But what a PITA to install, especially the passenger side bulb. I have a question, should the bulbs point more downwards, like almost touching the bottom of the metal bulb cover? I didn't look before I pulled them out.

I've never had the xtreme white or the super plasmas, but I did have a set of the ion crystal H3 bulbs years ago in my Accent GT fogs. They lasted much longer than anything else...

Sorry to hear you guys aren't happy with them overall.
