i was backin into the carport at too much of an angle, and screech, i hear the fender rub up against one of the supporting poles. luckily all that happened was i got some excess paint on the car. nothing that some goof off wont remove but it left a teeny scratch! so i guess this is my first little mishap. wat can ya do?

I feel your pain. I gotta get some batteries in my camera to show you guys what happened to my bumper incident. Not too happy about it.

ohhhhhhh
you got me confused with the 'drivers door' thing you said!
and... make sure you clean the area afterwards not to leave any chemical residue!
:)
Don't feel bad I did something very similar in a parking garage. My damage was worse, with a hand sized dent in the rt ft fender. I was lucky enough to have a couple old ladies hit my car almost a year later and the body shop fixed my screw up along with the damage the blue hairs did all at the expense of my ins.

yea im not too upset about it. it'll teach me not to back into the carport anymore. and i did clean off all the goof off, and waxed it after to try to get rid of most of the scratches. look almost new now. im just glad there were no dents. i woulda been pissed if i had to pay a bodyshop to fix it.

i could do that but doesnt that take more than 6 months of experience? more like 5 years or so.

yea, it only has a wall on one side, which is the house, and a wall next to the house which is the shed, so on the other side was the white pole supporting it. :)

Well... The other day, some crazy guy with a pickup hit me on the back, his front bumper fell off (old crap, 198x toyota pickup) so he decided to start a fight...
Be glad that nothing like that happened to you ! :D

mastering backing in/parallel parking should really only take a few hours of solid practice. it's going to take 5 years to learn how to park if you're only in a difficult situation once a day. go out in some empty lot where you won't feel like a dumbass and just practice backing into spaces over and over again. do it until it becomes second nature. practice using your mirrors, etc. and i suppose you'll be more cautious next time and look for objects like poles before you start moving :D
oh and sorry, his sti will smoke your heavy *** v8...
1993 Ford Mustang Cobra 0-60 in 5.9, 1/4 mile in 14.5
2004 Subaru WRX Sti 0-60 4.9, 1/4 mile 13.2
these are stock figures.
sorry :)
all wheel drive is superior :)

depends what your aim is and whether you just like the cobra because its a cobra... there are a lot of lighter vehicles out there that will do MUCH better, but it all depends on your aim. personally i could care less about huge top speeds and handeling. i only care about 0-60 and quarter mile times because that's what determines whether i win a race in the real world. i drive because i like it and only race people on normal roads in real conditions. if you want the cobra because its available or because you just like it for what it is then just do your thing

i just like it cuz of the look. and the v8 is nice too. i like the cobra for the leather seats, i believe it has. but i wouldnt buy a mustang unless it was the v8. dont want another 4 banger.
