Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I just purchased a 2005 Elantra GLS hatch. It's Rally Red, has the GT wheels, 5 speed, CD, cloth, cruise, sunroof and power everything. I don't have any pics up yet, as my wife is driving it.

We traded in her '00 Camry because we wanted a killer warranty, reliability, mileage and something sportier. After spending 500 miles in it this weekend, I must say I'm quite impressed.

I made them give me a set of GT wheels when I told them that I just couldn't see spending the money I was on a car with cheapie plastic covers. I picked them up today and will be putting them on tonight.

I can't believe how well this car brakes! Those 4 wheel discs are the bomb? The shift is nice and slick, though the throws are a little on the long side.

Does anyone else have trouble shifting thier 5 speed into reverse? That's about my only complaint with the car.

The long shifts was an initial complaint of mine too, easily solved w/ a short shifter though. Have fun with it :)

it's a 5-door GLS... and GT wheels.....


If you do a search, you'll find that we discussed the reverse "issue" a week or 2 ago..... basically, there's not anything wrong... it's just designed to go into reverse when you really want to..... I'd rather have to wiggle it around sometime to get into reverse than hit it instead of 4th.... :eek:

Welcome to the site. Seeing a hatch with caps is pretty bad, I'm glad you got the GT wheels, very nice.
