I don't particularily care for these tail lights here, but I have an idea

http://i21.ebayimg.com/02/i/02/fd/1b/89_1.JPG

If I took some clear Plexi and molded it to the holes of these covers and broke the lights and made these the lenses instead of sticking out from the car they would be flush...

hmm

shawn :)

that is fugly imo.

If it was flush on the car with leses in the holes. it would look ok

holy ****, especially if its body color. hot damn i got an idea

yeah gross in their original idea, but don't look at the color or the fact that they are stick on like a 1/4 inch away from the body.

I am talking about body color with colored lenses, molded flush with the car...

just look at the design of the light. I think it might look cool. If not, someone will

sounds like it's time for a photochop..... too bad there isn't a better picture to start with....

I think it's an idea with potential.....

what if you fit lenses in like sed said (lol) and filled it so it was all flush... basically the same shape as the original lense..... and painted it to match.....

I want everyone to understand, i am not talking about chrome taillights or altezzas or something.

I am talking about body color, the chrome part will look like part of the rear quarter panel, the "lights" will be plexi where the holes to show the red lens is now.

So basically, tape off a circle in your OEM tail-lights (where you want the 'light' to be), and spray the rest.

I say go for it. I know you don't need to hear this from me, but I had some ideas too.

Place the aftermarket cover over your current lights, trace out the circles, rotozip them about 1/4 " out from line, sand to round. Then cut off the rest of the outer cover of your light, just enough to flush the aftermarket cover in. For the back-up lighting, heated strip of clear plexi should work. Then epoxy the red circles in from the back and the clear plexi strip. Then, maybe clear high-temp silicone the cover to the light housing. Sounds easy enough. IMHO I would bondo fill all those indentations all over the outside of the cover and go body color too.

But, I don't have those taillights and have no idea what they look like up close, so I'm talking outta my ***.

i think if you used then as replacement covers, added lenses, and painted them they would look good... and you could leave the rings around the lenses unpainted...

yeah... I like that even better.....

too bad they're for XD2's.... although as long as they are plastic, you might be able to make them work on an XD....

ilanpro posted some covers not too long ago similar to this, however, they didn't have the bulging 3d parts. just smooth, but still silver. i remember recomending a body-color paint job. would be very easy to do. looked like some obscure korean site that was sell the ones i am talking about.

ALL THE TIME THEY USED MAKING THOSE...THEY COULDA BEEN USIN MAKIN SOME REAL LIGHTS. I WAS THINKING ABOUT DOING THE SAME THING..PAINTIN THEM AND EVERYTHING. BUT IT LOOKED LIKE A WASTE OF MONEY TO ME. IF YOU GOT THE TIME, PATIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE, THEY GO AHEAD BUT I'LL JUS WAIT FOR THE REAL ONES TO COME OUT WHILE YALL ARE STILL TRYIN TO MATCH THE BODY PAINT TO THE TALILIGHTS...LOL :D

hmmmmmm.... paint that matches is readily available at your friendly Hyundai dealership..... or even on eBay.......

If you want a company to make tails for your car, don't just sit there and critisize other people's ideas...... go out there and convince a company to produce some. Then you come back and show us what you've accomplished, and talk **** then....

something tells me that your wait will be more than a little longer than somebody that just does it themselves.....

Everyone, there is no need to make posts about he wrote in caps. If it really bothers you that much, send him a PM and ask him politely not too.

Stay on topic, everyone.
