Gauging Interest: Hatch OEM High Spoiler

Alright...

I have been actively communicating with a contact I have in a dealer not far from me and I might be able to get ourselves OEM high spoilers for the hatch for cheaper if a lot of people want it.

For those who don't know:

They go for around 245CAD -> 230USD MSRP, if bought individually.

Remember, the more, the cheaper

Fits 01-05 Hatchbacks, and is ONLY available in Canada!
Comes primed, ready to be painted.

Note: This is NOT a GB YET. (don't worry Super :) )

first off, 04GTboyVA, didnt you just order a new spoiler? maybe im mistaken

second, how cheap are you going to be able to get these? they sell on ebay anywhere from 50-80$...?

I've never seen the one pictured above on ebay... The only one's i've been seeing on ebay are either not for the hatchback, or they have the third brake light automatically installed. Those are the ones i've seen for the 50-80 dollars... plus they arent OEM, they are "OEM-like"

on a side note... i noticed that EvoFusion has a different OEM high spoiler, than the Canadian one..

Is this high spoiler OEM on Korean models only maybe?
$195 shipped from EF, will we be able to get a price better or equal to that?
I kinda like the smooth curves of the Canadian spoiler better.

^ Dont order from that company, they don't respond to any emails or phone calls at least from me, their spoiler is on back order i orderd one in December and never heard anything from them.

those are for the 4-door.... won't work without modification on a hatch....

as for the price, it's aroun 195USD for each purchase, so if this works, I'm hoping for a good price reduction (I wont give you any numbers because the guy wants to know how many people are going to be in before lowering the price)

Just to point out some minor details. The spoiler isn't only available in Canada, it's available in Korea too. It's just not available in the US.

The one on the EvoFusion site is the KDM one that was designed for the 04-05 5-doors, but I'm sure would fit on the 01-03s, much like the 01-03 one would fit on the 04-05 ones.

Super, of course they make em in Korea, that's where it's from :)

And yes, the EF one would work, but it isn't as simple looking/nice as the OEM High Spoiler one, IMHO.

Also, today at the dealer I talked to my guy about price breaks and he kept telling me ''Don't worry, I'll hook you up, I'll make a nice price, just make sure you don't go to the sales department and talk about this''. So, no worries guys, it will happen, but the more we get, the less we pay!

For all the bs hassle...I just ordered mine from Toronto Hyundai and w/ in 1 week had it shipped, painted then I installed. Now...I'm happy.

Spoiler = 250 US shipped
Paint = 120
DubyaO = happy he didn't fu@# around w/ it. ;-)

Well, I went now, final price for 5 people is 15% off, which would come around 150USD (+-5$) WITHOUT shipping.

I forget what site I was looking at before, but it was a Canadian Hyundai Dealer site, and they were offering the high spoilers for whatever high price, but also offering to have it painted for an additional $17.50 or so. Anything like that possible through your place kewlkat?

Yea, but the price for the unit itself must be REALLY expensive...

anyhow, I will post in the GB section as soon as I get final prices, (this includes taxes, etc...) and shipping fees (because i have a few options at hand).

I know you are all eager for this, but i don't want to get my *** kicked for giving you guys false hope for any reason :)

2- I ship myself (costs a LOT)
3- I ship thru the company I work at (very little shipping cost)

BUT the main problem here is that I think I shouldnt pay the 15% tax when I export an item... Gotta check on that.

Yea the price of the spoiler itself was like $360 or so... so all in all it wasnt much of a deal, since you can get it cheaper, and just get it painted yourself. I just didnt know if the dealer offered that low painting cost seperate at all Canadian Dealers.. Cuz the $360ish price was not including the painting

UPDATE:

All is going well except for one thing: taxes. Exported goods should NOT be taxed the 15.5% and the damn dealership can't understand this!

Also: what do you guys suggest for packaging?

(it is not TOTALLY official yet, but it will be soon-before end of this week)

-Item will have to be taxed (will be included in final price).
-Shipping will be of an O.K. price, for example, it will be a little less than 20$ for 04GTboyVA
-I will have to ship them one by one though, or if not, at least the first one alone to see if there won't be any complications
-I will receive final price information today, in maybe 2-3 hours when the parts Rep. calls, me back, expect a new thread to be openend in the GB section.

Unfortunately, this will take while more... My car is still in the dealership since monday and there's only been phone calls about my car, how much I will/should/have to pay, etc.. etc..., it's been so bad that the dealership now put a new rule, which is to not accept any repairs backed up by third party warranties. All because of me *sigh*. I feel bad for all these other people.

Anyhow, long story short, sorry, I don't think that the whole GB thing will happen, the dealer now hates me. BUT I AM ALWAYS WILLING TO SHIP THE SPOILERS TO YOU GUYS AT REGULAR PRICE, anytime. Regular price will be around 230USD+shipping.

If you want one for full price, PM me with your request, and make sur you include your VIN, because there are some already painted ones that the guy wants to get rid of for the same price.

Again sorry, I was as excited as you guys were.
