Hey all,

Just picked up my new speakers and amp. :D

Infiniti Reference 6000cs Components(6.5) with Crossover and 2 inch Tweeters
Infiniti Reference 9603i 6.9 Three-Ways
Infiniti Reference 7541a 4-Channel Amp

I also picked up all the wiring and some Tsunami "Silencer" Sound Suppression Material. So what do you all think? This new stuff will go with my Sony HU and Bazooka Tube. :D

Regards,
Axel

Can someone help me out with where to mount the amp? I tried the backseat, but the brackets inside the seat don't line up with the mounting points on the amp. I don't really want to mount it on the floor of the trunk. Any ideas?

Regards,
Axel

what do you mean brackets in the back seat? At least in my car, the seat backs are solid all the way across.... (my car is an 01 though) here's a pic of how my amp is installed...

Yeah, that's how I'd like to mount mine. But my back seat isn't solid across the back. I'll keep trying...might have to end up mounting the amp under the front seat.

you could make a mounting plate out of metal, plywood, hardboard, etc, and attach it to the seat, and amp to the plate.....

yep, that or under the front seat. good thing about mounting under the front seat is that you have the vent to blow air across the amp for better cooling. of course, you'd have to have somewhat of a small amp.

I just took off the back seat(the part the flips down) and brought it inside. Turns out that the back of the seat is solid metal, but there are these redges and indentations. That's what I was feeling with my fingers....had to unzip the upholstery to see it. So I lined it up and drilled the holes! All done....Amp is mounted. I reinstalled the seat and made sure there is plenty of clearance when I flip the seat up and down. Perfect fit!

Now comes the part that I'm dreading.....running all the wires. Aaaaahhhhhhhh! lol

The front speakers are easy enough...but the back deck is a *****. I'm also Sound Proofing the front doors, rear deck, and trunk. Can't do that today, though. It's cloudy and cold. It should be sunny and warm tomorrow and the rest of the week/weekend, so I should be able to do it then.

Oh yeah, I'm mounting the Tweeters using GT door panels. Picked them at at the Dealership last week. That way it'll look stock. The tweeters have a moveable base, so I'll be able to aim them till they sound best. Had to remove the stock tweeter grill but I like the way it looks.

Regards,
Axel

PS: Oh yeah, forgot to ask. I'm already running a Bazooka Tube in the trunk, so I already have an 8-gauge power wire going from battery to trunk. Can I use a Distribution block and split the power from the main 8-gauge wire to both the Bazooka and the new Amp?

Nice.

Make sure you take a LOT of pics though, my news system is on the way and I don't know where to start :(

I have mine mounted to the backseat too. My husband was the one who put it in. We never had any trouble putting it on the back seat though.

I tried those locations too and the sound was way too harsh...if I were you I would just mount them in the sail panels and save the time and effort of moving them later...your ears will thank you.
