That's a nice touch ... of course, most everything is made of cheap plastic these days. I would just worry about them being torn off if I went through a carwash. Yep, I don't always handwash. I imagine you could coat them with a thin bead of silicone and adhere them that way. I installed an air conditioner in one of my windows at home. I put a piece of clear plexiglas above it to fill in the hole with something that I could see through. I used silicone to adhere the plexiglas to the vinyl window frame and I will be danged if I didn't almost need a jackhammer to get it back off again for winter.

i saw that a while ago. not much into chrome, but its a nice touch.
