If you guys remember a couple of months ago I said I was getting three JL 10W0's and the 500/1 amp. Well they have been installed for a week or two now, and they sound incredible..

Without the install, how much did that cost?

Are you using any sound deadening material?

Looks good. I don't know how/if you use your trunk, but I would put some grates over those speakers. I wouldn't want something I put in my trunk to hit up against them and damage them.

I do not use my trunk. I refuse to with the subs in there. Subs each retail at $105 each. Box was custom made to fit that opening in the trunk for $200. The amp was $500 retail. The power cable was $95. The ground, rcas and remote were around $45 I think somewhere around there. Install was around $200. for a grand total of $1355. Give or take a little bit. I paid roughly $900 for it all because I have extreme hook ups yo.

In the future the subs will be custom enclosed and the amp will be under plexi glass where the spare tire is. That will be $600. I need a cap hard core and dynamat all that will be around $300. Getting and double din in dash kenwood dvd/cd receiver, and TVs in the headrests. Projected finish date of all this will be Late July early August at the latest. There is a huge car show in minneapolis called Autovations that my car will be entered into, so it has to be done for that.

Question: Is it possible to put plexiglass over the subs in order to protect them?

Only if you don't mind the mother of all rattles!

Yeah, better off to get the grills that mount with the screws already in use on the speakers. That's what I did with mine and still used the trunk like a trunk.

oh nice! would i be bale to get those ''grills'' at normal audio stores?

and they should be ''universal'', right, as in subs shouldnt have unique bolt patterns...?

question to you jrod... those 2 mounting brackets in front of the sub box... do you have those on the back too?

also... do they cause any further distortion/vibration because of those brackets?

no they do not and no i not have them in the back. they are just there to keep the box from moving side to side or tip.

another question to you jrod...the back speakers in the dash...when you have your system turned up to they flex a lot more with the added spl in the trunk? i have an idmax 12 that i will eventually put in the trunk but i was thinking of taking the back speakers out and leave the holes to let the bass through a little more. i have heard about people saying that the back speakers distort a lot when their subs are in the trunk.
