Cap question

Alright...

I have a deal for a 1.0 farad cap w/ 16v dc surge. What's the difference with a 24v?

It will be running my amp for 2*370rms...

Will the 16v one be alright?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I beleive that is the max draw at peak power. For instance, my Fosgate amp draws 13.5-14.5 volts constant, so it may peak around 15 volts. Usually amps are rated around 12-13.5 volt draw, fosgate is just picky that way.

That cap is just fine. You can only charge it to 14.4v from the car anyways - that's where the alternator is regulated.

You'd only have a problem if let's say your voltage regulator fried on your Alternator, and at that point more problems than worrying about your cap'.
