OK. I love my current H/U, with one exception. It cannot play MP3 CDs (I bought it in 2002 just before the next level in the model line came out, which could).

here is my current H/U (click pic for details):

My other current audio components are:
2x Bazooka EL8A 8" self-amplified bass tubes
Alpine SPS 170A 6.5" Speakers (Front)
Alpine SPS 690A 6x9" Speakers (Rear)
OEM front tweeters.

I don't plan on doing any more audio upgrades/additions. I want the speakers powered by the headunit, so it needs to have some power. The Headunit must also have subwoofer outputs, for remote control of sub levels (as I have now). I am also fond of the 'pretty' LCD display as opposed to the plain-type display readouts. Basically, I want my deck, with MP3 capabilities. Rather than go ahead and buy the next model in the line, I thought I would take some recommendations.

Here's what I'd get:

I have the older model, the 7400MP. It'll play MP3's but not WMA's. The 7700MP above will play MP3's, WMA's & AAC. My brother and I have been impressed with Pioneer's car audio stuff, especially their head units. So that's mostly all we've bought since Pioneer will typically have more features and/or better quality than other head units in their pricerange.

This is what I put in my Elantra. Its got amazing features for the price ($250). Plays mp3s/wmas/aac and supports XM/Sirius/HD and has 4V preouts, including subwoofer outs. You'll love it.

i'd have to go with the pioneer. i have had pioneer decks in all my cars and loved them all. the new 7700 looks good. i'd go with the premier version..the p770 mp. this one would be better if you were running an amp because of the higher preout voltage. the p8600 mp has the ultimate package with what is on the inside, but i don't like the display...there are better color displays on the market in my opinion. the p770 mp and the p7700 mp are the same price on the pioneer website. you might just get the premier just in case you deside ot upgrade to an amp. food for thought!
