That's right, I quit smoking. It's been 5 days since my last cigarette and I feel great. I'm using the Patch and it's been helping a lot. I was smoking a pack a day!
My two kids are really happy. And hey...this means I have another $25 a week to spend on my car lol.
Regards,
Axel

Good luck. Keep it up. It's a never-ending project to 'stay-quit.' I quit about 3.5 years ago (pack a day), there's still times that it's 'challenging.' My parents both quit for 6 years, then started again right where they left off about 10 years ago.

Congrats.
Gave it up a long time ago and still miss it now and then. But was a choice well worth making. As time goes on you will have more energy not to mention the money you can now spend elsewhere.
Keep it up, you can make it. :D

Congrats and good luck man! I quit almost two years ago from a pack a day when my wife told me she was pregnant. Talk about extenuating circumstances! It is one of the best decisons you can make.

The bad news: You will always have the occasional cravings.
The Good news: You get to live longer to have the cravings!
I been smoke free close to 4 years now. Great feeling. It's amazing all the things that you can smell and taste. You never notice it while smoking.
Congrats and keep it up.

Well, just like most posters on this thread it seems, I too was a smoker. For about 6 years, a pack to a pack and a half a day. I quit about 3 years ago, the trick is to surround yourself with non-smokers. That's what I did, eventually it just becomes easier and the temptations are fewer and far between. But if you feel weak just come and talk to one of us, we'll support you! Good luck!

I was never a smoker, but have had friends who were. Something else to help you stay quit is a cardio workout regimen. You definately wont want to smoke after a 1 hr spin class! Good luck, I dont think you will regret your decision!

Congrats! I have just been quit about three months now after smoking a pack to a pack and a half a day for four years. I feel alot of difference, better breathing, NO MORE COUGHING!!!, and I have even had the energy to start a workout program including cardio and weight lifting that I have been doing for two monts now. It was definately hard to quit but it is very worth it. Just keep it up and good luck. :)

That's encouraging! I have a kid due mid April, and I will finally quit the day he's born and never look back. Now that I'm working in an office again, I need to get my *** back on WeightWatchers again too. I'm looking at a pretty challenging Spring.
I wish you all the best!

Living long is one thing, living heathy is another. My father smoked quit maybe in his 50's, now he can't walk 5 ft at 75 and uses an Oxygen though a hose. His life sucks, can't do a friggin thing. Don't think you can quit someday and instantly you'll be fine, it does not work that way. Some people are lucky, others are not. Stop as soon as you can, later may be too late.

Huh? I always thought smoking made you cooler?
As you can see, I don't know why people celebrate this, they should have never started.
But, not to be too negative, CONGRATS. Hopefully you can keep it up.
